Ivy cottage is situated on the edge of the historic village of Rosscarbery in the south west of Cork and only a few miles from Clonakilty famed for its fantastic surf beach and numerous venues playing live Irish music every night of the week.The cottage is about 150 years old and at one time was a thatched single storey house, around the turn of the century a first floor and new roof was added. Within five minutes walk from the centre of the village and within 20 mins walking distance from a beautiful sandy beach, Ivy Cottage is in a perfect position directly opposite the saltwater lagoon which provides the cottage with unspoilt views.
Close to the cottage is a pleasant childrens' playground and boat hire facilities for use on the lake.
The village has six pubs, grocery and gift shops, pharmacy and a very good fish restaurant. There is also a modern hotel nearby. There are numerous local activities to occupy your day. The area is steeped in local history and close to unspoilt fishing villages. Whether you prefer walking, fishing, sailing, horse riding or a pleasant time in the local pub there is something to suit all tastes and enjoy the local hospitality.
Ivy cottage has three comfortably furnished bedrooms and can accommodate five people in one double room, one single room, and two single beds in the first floor open landing area. The cottage is ideally suited to a single family occupancy with young children.
On the ground floor is a small sitting room with two sofas, an open fireplace, TV, DVD and CD player. The kitchen/dining area has an oil fired Rayburn for hot water and electric hotplates/small oven for cooking. There is a utility area with washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer leading to a bathroom with an electric shower. At the front of the cottage is a small south facing sun terrace and garden facing the lagoon. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided.
