Less than an hours drive from Ljubljana airport, yet nestled in the heart of an atmospheric village in the Triglav National Park, the Snowdrop Apartment 2 is an ideal base to explore the stunning scenery of the Bohinj region. A spacious first and second floor apartment, Snowdrop 2 can accomodate 4 - 6 people. It is a ten minute walk to Lake Bohinj, and a ten minute drive to the ski slopes of Vogel and Kobla. Summer or winter there is always plenty to do!!
Snowdrop 2 is one of two apartments in a recently refurbished house and is set on the first and second floors. Completed in early 2007 – the floors are either tiled or parquet and the décor is light and neutral.
On entering the property you access the apartment via a spiral staircase to the first floor. Outside the front door is a large cloakroom/storage area. You enter straight into a spacious open plan living area which contains a kitchen with all amenities, a dining table for 6 people, and a lounge area with a sofa and 2 armchairs.
A traditional Slovene wood burning stove acts as a centre piece of the room, and is a romantic and effective way to heat the apartment on chilly evenings. From this room you can access the balcony which has far reaching views to the Vogel ski resort.
Off this main living area is the bathroom/toilet. Stairs lead up to the second floor were there is a small landing off which are the two sizeable double bedrooms.
On the groundfloor communal area, there is a further cloakroom/storage area, and a washroom complete with washing machine, hand basin, iron and ironing board. Downstairs also houses a cupboard full of board games for use by both apartments.

The beauty of the apartment is its dramatic location in the heart of Slovenia’s most picturesque region - The Triglav National Park. Stara Fuzina is a charming old alpine village, situated on the southern shore of the majestic Lake Bohinj and surrounded on all sides by the snow capped peaks of the Julian Alps.
Bohinj lake (10 min walk from the apartment) is an outdoor lovers paradise. Walking, hiking, climbing, swimming, horse riding, cycling, fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, sailing, and paragliding are all popular in the summer months.
In the winter the 4 local ski resorts have over 60km of runs between them, and the biggest of those, Vogel is less than 10 min away by car. Cross-country skiing and ice climbing are also very popular
Within a 3 min walk of the apartment there are two pub/restaurants and a small supermarket. A further 1½ km away the bigger tourist hub of Ribcez Laz has 4 restaurants, a supermarket, a bank, the tourist office and a small nightclub. There is an aqua park in Bohinj Bistrica, and an award winning golf course in Bled.
Bled itself is a charming town where you can visit the castle on the hill, or the island on the lake, not to mention its great restaurants and shopping. Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital city is little more than an hours drive. Or take a trip to the Unesco listed Skocjan caves or the massive Postojna caves. Austria and Italy are less than an hour away, and the Slovenian coast and Venice are also reachable on day trips
Every year on the second Sunday in September, at the other end of the lake, Ukanc hosts the Cow’s Ball (Kravji Bal). It marks the return of the cows to the valley after spending the summer on high pasture and offers the visitor an insight in Slovenian folk music, dancing and local cuisine. Bonfire Night (Kresna Noc) is celebrated on the Sunday closest to the Feast of the Assumption on the 15th August. Candlelit boats are launched into Lake Bohinj from which there is a firework display.
