Charming 300 year old catalan cottage, beautifully restored, on three floors, large sun drenched terrace with fabulous views across to the mountains 20 minutes from Perpignan airport, one hour Girona airport. Two large double bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen dining room. Sleeps 4 - 6. Broadband connection. Situated in quaint hillside village in the Pyrenees, but just 30 minutes drive from the Mediterranean, Argeles, St. Cyprien etc. There's a large Swimming lake just two miles away in Vinca. Great walking country, with beautiful hillside walks straight from the cottage. Lots of history, castles, walled towns, caves, fishing and great shopping in nearby Perpignan.

Large sunny terrace, perfect for sunbathing or dining, with fabulous views right across the valley to the Pyrenees and Canigou, the 'Queen of the Pyrenees'. Equipped with new table, chairs, sunloungers and barbeque.
The terrace is accessed from the sitting room, which has seating for 8, including a bed settee and various armchairs. There are also two french doors opening onto a small balcony, and a large window with another view of the Pyrennees. There is a CD player, books and tourist guides.
The kitchen is very attractive, bright and sunny yellow with a pine table and chairs. It has a cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, coffee maker and kettle. There's a large bedroom on the middle floor that has a double bed, wardrobe and chests of drawers. There is a WC on this floor.
The large bedroom on the lower floor has a double bed and wardrobe with shelves and hanging space. There is a bathroom with bath and shower on this floor. There is a second separate toilet on this floor also. There is a utility area outside the bathroom with washing machine, hot water boiler, iron and ironing board

Radio, CD System, Board Games, Tennis Court. Every local village has a Summer festival with music/ entertainment. Perpignan is the only french city other than Paris to have a music 'conservatoire' hence the abundance of local musicians.

The roads are quite steep up to the house, so you need to be fairly fit.(although our 87 year old mother loves it! ), but you can park 20 yards from the house to unload/drop off.
Local activities in and around Ille Sur Tet, Languedoc-Roussillon
The village itself is very attractive and interesting to walk around. There are hill walks straight from the house or you can walk down by the gorge/ river where there is also stunning scenery. There is a shop and restaurant in the village and another restaurant just across the main road.
There is swimming nearby in a large lake at Vinca (about two miles up the road), there are tennis courts in the village, there's nearby lake fishing.
The area is teeming with historial and tourist interest, cathars, castles, caves and the 'little yellow train' just up the road for trips into the mountains. The walled town of Villefranche is just up the valley and you can cross the border into Spain in less than 40 minutes if you wish. There's golf at St. Cyprien (30 minutes away) or over the border. The ski area is about 40 minutes away (in fine weather) and a trip to Andorra would be under two hours.
For shoppers, there is a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants in Perpignan, just 20 minutes away. The nearest resorts on the Mediterranean are Argeles St. Cyprien, Canet and Collioure, (a very pretty artists paradise). The area is teeming with chateaux and vineyards where you can taste the wines and buy if you so desire at ridiculously low prices. The scenery is absolutely stunning in this area and it is a great place just to unwind and relax.
Take the road from Perpignan signposted to Andorra. Most of the way this is dual carriageway and very quick. After you have passed Ille sur Tet, look out for the sign to Rodes(a right turning).
