Inside, you can sit in front of a roaring open fire. You are snug and safe behind thick stone walls, which have faced the sea and been home for fishermen for hundreds of years. On fine days, you can watch the fishermen preparing their boats and landing their catches.
The cottage is large but, out of season, is priced for just 2 people. The cottage features a wealth of tradition, with exposed beams, open fires and timeless views of the harbour, cliffs and sea. There is a new terrace at the back of the cottage, which forms a lovely shared BBQ area, with garden furniture and tables.
Willy Wilcox had a full renovation in 1998. Regular guests were relieved that we had retained all its old character, nooks and crannies, including the door that is reputed to give secret access to the smugglers cave, below the house. The cottage has a large drawing room with a Cornish stone fireplace and a massive copper hood. The kitchen/dining room is right over the cave. There are now 4 bedrooms, all with subdued lighting - The Harbour room (en-suite), The Beach Room, The Quay Room and The Boat Room in the style of a ship's cabin.
The Beach Room, on the South end of the cottage is right over the cave - you will not sleep closer to the sea anywhere! A side door leads from this wonderful bedroom up to the renovated side terrace, overlooking the sea. Tiptoe out in the moonlight and share a bottle of wine or a nightcap.
Willy Wilcox has a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, drier, microwave, etc. Furnishing, throughout, offers taste, comfort and character. Lighting is subdued and dimmer controlled. There are storage heaters in reception rooms, (plus in some bedrooms) and the cottage is very snug and warm. Three televisions and a dvd player should cater for different program tastes. The cottage has a coinphone and a number on which you can be contacted.

DVD, Radio, Board Games, Tennis Court. 4 Tennis court - even in high season you are likely to get a court - charging only £6. Situated on the SEA-SHORE, on the West side of Looe - the rock pools are some the best you will ever have seen.
Outside:
Communal Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. Close by, including in the tariff, we have access to an indoor pool with small sauna, pool spa and well equipped gymnasium. There are also 4 tennis courts close by with a very small charge of only £6

Yet you can still meander along deserted cliff paths and find your own cove. You will still visit the picturesque fishing villages, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, National Trust properties like Lanhydrock, the Minack Theatre, situated on the rocks overlooking the sea, lead, tin, slate, china clay mines steeped in hard history, Seal and Monkey Sanctuaries, St Michael's Mount, The Tate at St Ives…...
And for a bit of excitement, there’s Flambard’s mighty thunderbolt.
How about the Camel Trail for one of the best cycleways in the country?
Then you can combine a visit to Bodmin Jail, with an afternoon on the mainline steam railway from Bodmin Parkway to Wadebridge (subject to getting bail of course).
There is so much for all to do. One, two even three weeks will not be time enough. That is why so many lovers of Cornwall come back year after year. Cornwall may end at Land’s End but it starts hopefully with us if you would like to stay with us?
