General Information: Bansko is Bulgaria's # 1 ski resort with the best and most modern ski centre of all Bulgarian ski resorts.
Distance from Sofia Airport: 160km which takes approx 2 hours. There is a new 3 lane motorway connecting Sofia to Bansko.
Resort: The resort is situated in Southwestern Bulgaria in the Pirin Mountains and offers an interesting combination from the beauty of the mountains to the atmosphere of an ancient Bulgarian small town.
The recent years have seen massive investment in the brand new skiing area with new slopes and new Gondola station. Bansko has the best snow record and the longest ski season (15 Dec - 15 May) of all Bulgarian ski resorts.
Ski / Board equipment hire are widely available, as are tuition from the ski schools, offering group or private lessons.
Height of resort 936m, Height of ski runs 1100-2500m, Highest ski point 2500m, Marked ski runs 14km, Longest ski run 2.6km, Cross country track 8km.

Mountain Biking: There are many beautiful forest tracks to explore. Bikes can be hired.

Other information: The Rila Monastery (1hr 30mins from Bansko) is worth a visit.
