The stone farmhouse, recently renovated, is in the quiet hamlet of Le Maillac. The house overlooks the surrounding valleys. For details about the 300 m² house, look at the lay-out provided with the pictures. As far as sports are concerned, one can canoe on both rivers, fish, swim. Le Maillac is especially well located for golfers with 18 holes and 9 holes courses within a 4 km radius.
The 8000 m² property allows for privacy. The 6x12 private pool is equipped with an efficient alarm system. It has a nice view on the surrounding valleys.
The living room consists in a fully equipped kitchen, an eating and a sitting-area. Two of the three French windows open on a large terrace with tables and chairs. There is a second drawing room separate from the living room with a television and a card table.
Le Maillac is part of the commune of Sagelat,at about three km from Belves, a small medieval town with quite a few shops (two butchers, four bakeries, a bank, a pharmacy etc). The supermarket is in Siorac, about five km from Le Maillac.
The house is at 5 km from the Dordogne and about 10 km from the Vézère. The first one is known chiefly for its medieval castles and houses. The second one for its prehistoric sites, centered around Les Eyzies, the new prehistoric museum, the Lascaux caves etc.

2 Double Bedrooms, 2 Twin Bedrooms. twin can be fitted as double 180 cm. Should be specified in a mail or contract for housekeeping reasons but remember that sheets are not provided.

3 Bathrooms, 3 Separate WC's. The wash-house with washing machine and dryer is on the first floor.
Telephone. A woodstove, in the living room, can be lit. House cleaning is available and included for min 2 weeks rental.

Terrestrial TV, Video, Radio, CD System, Board Games, Table Tennis. There is a piano in the living room.

There is one flight of stairs to reach the bedrooms.
Local activities in and around Belves, Aquitaine/Dordogne
Probably one of the most delightful activities, the visit of the markets for instance in the "bastides" such as Montpazier, Domme, with their local products and crafts is possible from Le Maillac every day of the week but is not mandatory and quite a few other possibilities exist. In Belvès itself a weekly local farmers market is followed by a huge free sitting dinner on the market place. Sagelat is the starting point of a series of well indicated walks. Fishing is possible in the Nauze, the small river passing through Sagelat, and in close by fishing ponds. Horse riding is available in Sagelat. A littlle bit further away, the Dordogne and the Vézère can be canoed down. The caves also add to the natural wealth of the Dordogne. Tenths of them are within a 10 km radius. The cultural richness of the Dordogne is well known and needs more than 2000 characters to be adequately described. We will stop here.
