Situated in a peaceful Asturian hamlet, this 200 year old cottage has recently undergone extensive renovations to provide comfortable rustic holiday accommodation set over two floors. Within a 10-minute drive of fabulous coastline and a 20-minute drive of the edges of the magnificent Picos de Europa mountains.

Downstairs there is an open-plan living-kitchen-dining room with a steep staircase rising to the first floor. The living area has a DVD player (with a selection of titles) and the fully-equipped kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge with freezer compartment.
A stable door from the living room leads onto a small terrace with a seating area.
On the first floor, there is a large bathroom with shower, WC, basin and bidet. The well proportioned double bedroom has a double bed with a door leading to its own private terrace area with exceptional views over the local countryside.
The large second bedroom has two single beds and has space for an additional fold-up bed or cot if required.
Lavares is located only 4km from the town of Villaviciosa, with local facilities and excellent motorway links. A range of beaches and spectacular countryside is close to hand. It is an easy 40 minute drive from Asturias airport and 90 minutes from Santander. The lively coastal town of Gijon and the more sedately Oviedo are both a short drive away.
Asturias has lots to offer - miles of unspoiled beaches set against the majestic backdrop of the Picos de Europa.
With a mix of traditional rural retreats, lively cities and charming coastal towns, Asturias provides a friendly and safe environment. It boasts some of the finest dining in Spain and is home to the Spanish cider industry. For the more active, Asturias offers mountain-biking, hiking, horseriding,surfing, canoeing, climbing, skiing and fishing.
Despite its breathtaking natural beauty and temperate climate, it remains largely undiscovered by holidaymakers.

The cottage is ideally-placed for taking advantage of all that Asturias has to offer. It has a variety of distinctive local towns which can provide both culture, entertainment and exciting nightlife. There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from providing food for all tastes - from typical Asturian to Japanese, Italian and Mexican. The local town of Villaviciosa is famous for its cider production.
For nature lovers there are scores of beautiful beaches to explore and sports fans can enjoy the surfing, horseriding, kayaking, quad biking and walking in the local countyside.
There are also a large number of museums locally including the Jurassic and Cider museum. Within 30 minutes of the cottage there are several large shopping complexes to visit.
