The Les Tournesols Gite (Holiday House) is located in the heart of the Charente with easy access to local towns and only 25 minutes from the city of Angouleme. The gite has been recently renovated to a high standard with chesnut wood floors, exposed stone walls and beams. Guests have access to a new heated swimming pool with a large terrace and sun loungers, in addition to the gites own private patio and garden. The property is situated on top of a hill with magnificent views and is surrounded by a stone wall offering privacy and tranquillity.

The gite is located close to local towns such as La Rochefocauld and Verteuil with their magnificent chateaux, markets and restaurants. We are 20 minutes from our nearest UK destination airport (Angouleme/ Ryan Air) and an hour from a further two airports, Poitiers/Limoges(RyanAir/Flybe). If you prefer to take the TGV train the nearest station is 25 minutes away in our local city, Angouleme. The ferry ports are between 4-6 hrs away.

1 Double Bedroom, 1 Twin Bedroom. Both bedroom have chestnut wood floors, exposed stone walls and oak beams. The second bedroom is twin-bedded which is perfect for children or adults.

1 Bathroom. There is a large contemporary bathroom situated between the two bedrooms which has been furnished to a high standard with a bath, shower and a glass sink.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The gite has a new kitchen with all the equipment you would expect. As well as all of the standard utensils the kitchen has a clothes washer, dish washer, microwave, fridge, freezer and cooker/hob.

Seating for 4. Downstairs the large lounge area has two comfy sofas, a dining table, exposed stone walls, an oak floor. The lounge door leads directly onto the gite's patio and private garden for outside dining/BBQ.

Satellite TV, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. The sitting room includes satellite television, a DVD and a CD player for your entertainment.

Communal Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. The gite has a heated swimming pool with a large sun terrace & sun loungers. The pool is surrounded by stone walls & a fence which offers privacy & security. The gite has a private garden & patio.

Local activities in and around Angouleme, Charente/Vendee/W. Loire
Being based in the country but with easy access to the N10 motorway means that there is an abundance of activities available. If you like walking, cycling there a white lanes directly outside the property gates .
Kayaking starts just a few kilometres away for the more adventurous whilst on the more relaxing days you can unwind at one of the numerous gourmet local restaurants.
In the local town (10 minutes away) there are shops including two supermarkets, chemist, boulangeries, restaurants, post office, tabac, etc.
Angouleme, Poitiers and Cognac all have many interesting things to see which includes shopping, museums, galleries, visit the Cognac distilleries and historical architecture. Further away you have the port of La Rochelle with its beautiful city centre and delicious sea food restaurants along the marina. Futuroscope, Valley of the Monkeys (primate park), and Snakes Island are just some of the many family day trips.
