A 10 minutes drive from the villa will bring you to the picturesque old town of Tavira and its island. Regular buses/trains run along the coastline, with a passenger ferry or motorway to Spain. Four golf courses nearby - one within 5 minute drive!
Villa Casasol is a 40 minute drive from Faro Airport in the district of Tavira and countryside of the Eastern Algarve and 500m from the holiday and fishing village of Cabanas de Tavira which borders the tranquil Ria Formosa Sea Lagoon with its fishing boats and access to Cabanas Island and miles of unspoilt golden sandy beach.
The lovely family villa is comfortably and attractively furnished, and sleeps 6 people, with a baby's cot and highchair available if required. It has 3 bedrooms, (1 double en-suite and 2 twins) all with ceiling fans and hairdryers in each room, and a separate family bathroom.
The modern fitted kitchen is fully equipped for 6 people and has marble work-surfaces, electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave/grill, a dishwasher and washing machine with an iron and board etc in the utility room.
The comfortable lounge/dining-room has satellite television, a wood-burning fire and two gas fires for cooler weather. There is a small library of books and family games, radio, CD etc. Double patio doors lead onto a shady terrace and sunny patio garden - ideal for al-fresco meals.
The colourful, Mediterranean-style garden with palm trees, vines and many other flowering plants, has outside lighting, a spacious, tiled patio, sun-beds, garden furniture and new poolside BBQ, with fresh figs, herbs and lemons to pick if you wish.
The large private L-shaped swimming-pool is illuminated at night. Pool size: 10m long x 7m wide (shallow end) and 4m wide (deep end) gently graduates to a depth of 2.5 m but is not suitable for diving. Wide tiled integral steps lead into the shallow end (1m deep) being ideal for children or non-swimmers.
For private sunbathing, a secluded roof-top terrace, covered with bougainvillea, with table and chairs, is situated above the double bedroom and overlooks the pool.

Local activities in and around Cabanas De Tavira, Eastern Algarve
No need to drive far - Cabanas Village is a 5 minute stroll from the villa - offering friendly local bars, family restaurants and mini-markets, a small bank, daily fruit/vegetable/ fish markets, and weekly local market for souvenirs.
Cabanas Beach - reached by a 5 min fisherman’s ferry trip over the Ria Formosa Lagoon - has beach bars, toilets, showers, first aid tent, and is a peaceful, clean, guarded beach, ideal for children, flying the EC Blue Flag, with sun beds, umbrellas and waterskiing/windsurfing equipment for hire. The Lagoon is ideal for digging for cockles, fishing, bird watching, beach BBQs, and country walks.
Or, maybe a visit to picturesque Tavira, with its pretty island, Roman Bridge and attractive gardens, shops, restaurants and busy daily market. Or even a bus/train trip to Faro for shopping or the border town of Vila Real de San Antonio.
To the east of Cabanas lies the casino at Monte Gordo, the picturesque village of Cacela Velha overlooking the Ria Formosa Sea Lagoon and easy access to many excellent local beaches, such as Manta Rota, Praia Verde, Cabeço and Fabrica. Vila Real de San Antonio has good shopping facilities, or opportunities to take a boat trip upstream on the Guadiana River, go deep sea fishing, or take a passenger ferry trip to Ayamonte for a day trip to Spain. Alternatively it is now possible to drive on the IP1 motorway linking Portugal and Spain via the new bridge - Seville is a 2 hour journey!
To the west of Cabanas are Tavira and Olhao with their attractive islands, Tavira, Culatra and Armona, and Faro, the capital of the Algarve. Inland, the Rococco palace at Estoi is being restored and is set in a lovely garden, and the hillside market towns of Loule and Silves are interesting and worth exploring, especially on market day for copper and leather souvenirs.
From Faro Airport, head for Spain on EN125, passing Olhao, and Tavira. Keep on EN125 to roundabout for Cabanas. Turn right. Continue into Monte Velho area of Cabanas Village.

The weekly rental price, listed above, covers twice weekly maid service, electricity and gas. There is an additional refundable deposit of £100 payable on booking, against damage or loss to the villa or its contents, and to ensure the safe return of the keys after your holiday.
For long winter holidays, maid service is weekly, and gas bottles and wood are payable at the client’s own expense after an initial provision by Casasol.
Changeover day is Saturday for peak season, but is flexible at other times.
