The popular beach resort of Viareggio is 40 mins drive, and the night-life of Marina del Pisa is 30 mins drive. There are modern shopping Malls within 15 minutes drive of the resort, and the designer factory outlets offering genuine Gucci, Versace, and all major designer labels are conveniently located outside Florence.

Local activities in and around Palaia, Tuscany
Tuscany is about much more than great food and wine. Local activities include golf, horseriding, walking tours, cycle tours, cooking classes, flying club, wine tours. Hunting wild boar and fishing are popular locally and can be arranged.
Pisa and Florence have great shopping and there are modern shopping Malls within 15 minute drive offering great value on clothing, leather, goods, and wine. All the major designer outlets can be found outside Florence, offering top name brands like Gucci and Versace at Factory outlet prices, generally 30-50% below UK prtices.
There are stunning beaches along the coast north of Pisa, within 40 minutes drive, and the entertainment complex of Marina di Pisa is within 30 minutes drive.
The resort itself is in the heart of rural Tuscany, a narrow winding road rises gradually uphill through the towns of Montopoli and Palaia to Borgo di Colleoli. The Borgo sits on the "Strada del Vino", the local wine trail, with small vineyards offering their own superb Tuscan wines. The local area offers excellent dining choices at remarkably low prices.
Conveniently located just 25 miles from Florence, and 15 miles from Pisa, within easy reach of connecting airports. The Pisa/Florence train runs through Pontedera, just 3 miles below the Borgo.
Palaia, the 15th century hilltop village steeped in history and scene of battles and sieges throughout medieval times, has excellent bars, restaurants, and local amenities, and stages Crostini and and medieval festivals in summer-time. Nearby historic towns include San Miniato, Volterra, and San Gimignano.
There is excellent golf within 20 minutes drive, and Marina del Pisa, the seafront and night time entertainment hot spot is less than 30 mins drive. Beaches and sailing choices run along the nearby coast north and south of Pisa, including the famous designer resort of Forte di Mare.
Rome and Vienna can be visited on day trips, using the fast and inexpensive rail service.

Castelfalfi Golf Club is 20mins drive from the apartment. A stunning 18 hole course, built into the contours of the tuscan countryside. Very welcoming to visitors. A set of r.h. clubs are in the apartment for guests to use.
The town of Lucca is not to be missed in any visit to northern Tuscany.
Siena
A city to rival Florence as a tourist attraction. Superb summer medieval festival.
From Pisa airport towards Firenze, take 2nd Pontedera exit, follow signs to La Rotta, then Palaia. circa 30 mins drive.

Rental Notes: Change over day flexible. There is an English speaking Representative on site who can arrange Tours and Excursions, either in Groups or by private chauffeur. To avoid disappointment it is advised to contact Representative 2 weeks before arrival for special tickets etc.
A hamper can be pre-booked at a charge. A weekly housekeeping and linen change is included in the price. Daily housekeeping can be arranged at a local charge.
The owners have a second Garden Apartment on the property also available, allowing groups of 10 to be accomodated, ideal for groups or those with independent teenage children.
