Abhainn cottages are located in a truly remarkable elevated site with the most exquisite view of the Kings River "Abhainn Rí", the Blessington lakes and Wicklow Mountains. A wonderful family favourite with lots to see and do in Wicklow, Kildare and Dublin City.
The name Abhainn Rí was given to the cottages because the Kings River originally ran through the farm until the Blessington lake was created during the 1940's. One third of the original farm now lies under the lake.
If you love country life, enjoy passive walks or simply wish to awake to the relaxing sound of birds chirping, we have just the right place for you. Along with sheep & lambs the farm has lots of native wild creatures such as rabbits, hares, foxes, deers and an abundance of lovely birds.
Very spacious three bedroom tastefully decorated cottage. Furnished and fitted to a very high standard. The cottage sleeps six (& infant).
The ground floor consists of an open plan living room/kitchen/dining area and outside picnic area (with wonderful views). And a double bedroom with en-suite. The oak kitchen is fully equipped, dishwasher washer/dryer, fridge, cooker, hob and microwave. Fully equipped with all utensils. The living area has a TV / Video / DVD / Radio and of course a wonderful log burning stove for special autumn or winter breaks. The cottages are also heated with electric storage / panel heaters throughout.
The first floor consists of two spacious twin bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom and one en-suite shower. Ground floor Master double bedroom with en-suite shower. A cot and high chair can be requested if required.
Ouside the patio door you have a pic nic bench where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful views. You can also take a lovely quiet walk on 100 acres of farmland overlooking the Blessington lakeshore.

Health and Well-being is guaranteed with lovely fresh spring water. "Ballintober" the Irish place name - meaning land with wells. The water is only the purest taken directly from its natural source.

Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the most spectacular view. Blessington is just ten minutes drive away. A country town with a selection of shops and two large supermarkets(Supervalu & Dunnes Stores), restaurants, pubs, chemist, take-away's,off-licence, banks and an excellent award winning family owned butchers John Crimmins.
Excellent facilities nearby for golfing (Tulfarris Golf Resort or Rathsallagh Golf Course) or fishing for trout or pike (bring along your fishing rod) or horse riding or simply just a farm walk on site.
Wicklow is a paradise for lovers of the great outdoors. It is one of Ireland's best loved areas for hill walkers with magnificent walks available throughout the county.
As Ireland's "Garden County", Wicklow is also know for its wonderful houses & gardens. Some of the country's most magnificent and best known gardens can be found here, such as Russborough House (Blessington), Powerscourt (Enniskerry), Mount Usher (Ashford) and Kilruddery (Bray).
Avoca Village was the location of the very popular BBC Television Series "Ballykissangel" and you can visit "Fitzgeralds" the local pub. The village also has the most popular Avoca Handweavers and try their lovely home made products in the cafe.
Take N81 to Blessington Co Wicklow, continue to Poulaphuca House (6 miles) take next left, take second right. Continue 1.5 miles cottages on left.
