The Mews is a grade II listed mews style cottage offering a secluded self cateriing holiday of an excellent standard, in the heart of Hexham, Northumberland. Shops, restaurants, bars, a cinema, swimming pool, and the park are all within a short, pleasant walk. Hexham train station is just 1 mile away. With the whole of Northumberland on your doorstep, The Mews is an ideal location for visiting Hadrian's Wall, Keilder Forest, Corbridge (a nearby picturesque village) and much much more.
The property has recently been renovated. It has a spacious and light living area, with french doors which open out onto the courtyard. It has a fully equipped kitchen - from a garlic press to a coffee machine! Outside the cottage has a private walled courtyard, with outdoor seating and a bbq. The Mews is ideal for couples, families and friends. We provide a detailed Welcome Pack on arrival.
The Mews consists of a beautifully furnished living room with seating for 5 people, a television, DVD player, and CD player. It also has a gas stove effect fire, for those cold winter days, althought the property does benefit from central heating. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, gas hob and an electric oven. There is a dining area with table and chairs for 5. The three bedrooms each have a wardrobe and bedside table. All the bedrooms look out on to the courtyard. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, with WC and basin. There is also a further WC on the ground floor.
The courtyard has a high stone wall which gives wonderful privacy for guests. It benefits from the morning sunshine. There is a table and chairs for 5, plus a small bbq. This is a secure and safe area for children, or storing such things a bicyles for those cyclists. There is ample off street parking nearby also. Although being in Hexham itself, the need for a car isn't necessary. We have recently been awarded 4 stars by Visit Britain.

Local activities in and around Hexham, North
From the Mews it a short walk into the main heart of Hexham. Hexham is an abbey town with a beautiful abbey and grounds. There are several bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and cafes in Hexham. There are all the amenities you could need from florists and butchers to banks and a post office. A little further there are two supermarkets - only 2 minutes by car. For the children, there is a large park and play area, a local indoor swimming pool and a cinema - all within walking distance. A little further afield there is the river with canoeing and riverside walks.
The nearby village of Corbridge is very picturesque and is wonderful for window shopping with quaint little shops. There are many walks nearby and Hadrian's Wall is very close indeed. There are many routes for cyclists also. Fishing on the River Tyne (5 minutes away), and licences are available locally. For the golfers out there is both Slaley Hall and Matfen within a 15 minute drive. There are nearby beautiful country houses/estates and gardens.
A little further afield there is Newcastle Upon Tyne city centre, with its Millenium Bridge, bars and restaurants. There is the eye catching Sage and Baltic Flourmill at Gateshead. All about 30 minutes in the car. For shopping there is the Metro Centre, a large indoor shopping mall - just off the A1 motorway. Again this is about 30 minutes away by car.

Rental Notes: Weekly bookings are Saturday to Saturday throughout the year. Short three night breaks can be booked from October until the end of March at a rate of £195 per break. Check in is from 4 pm on the day of arrival and departure is by 10 am.
A £100 damage bond is payable before arrival, which will be refunded within 7 days of departure, after a satisfactory inspection.
If staying for over a one week period, there is a maid service on Saturdays.
The owners are located nearby and therefore on hand if there are any queries arise. A detailed welcome pack is provided on arrival.
All bed linen and towels are included in the rental price.
