A luxury, stone villa in a glorious elevated position on the edge of the village of Kokkino Chorio. The villa has stunning views to Almirida and across Souda Bay. In the evenings enjoy the beautiful sunsets for which this area is renowned and then relax on one of the balconies or terraces as the lights twinkle below. The villa is just under 1 km from the village of Kokkino Chorio where there is a taverna and a shop. 4 minutes drive brings you to Plaka where there is a selection of bars, tavernas and mini markets. The lovely sandy beach at Almirida where there are more bars and tavernas is another couple of minutes drive.

The Villa
The 2 bedroomed, air-conditioned villa stands in a large plot with the pool set privately to one side of the villa, not only to provide privacy but also to allow uninterrupted views from the extensive sun-bathing terraces all around. The immediate area surrounding the villa has been landscaped whilst the rest of the plot is being left as nature intended. The spacious ground floor is open plan with a lounge/dining area and a fitted kitchen. The villa sleeps 4 in the 2 bedrooms + up to 2 more persons on a double sofa bed which is situated in its own area on the ground floor thus allowing the bed to be made up and left without interrupting the flow of the rest of the ground floor. There is a shower room on this floor with a shower, wc and wash hand basin.
The kitchen is fully equipped. The large extending dining table will easily seat 6 and for your entertainment there is a TV with satellite reception (not Sky), DVD player and stereo music system.
Both of the bedrooms and the family bathroom are on the first floor. The master bedroom has a double bed, is fully equipped with storage, dressing tables etc and also benefits from having a TV screen and a DVD player. The other room has twin beds and again has plenty of storage and dressing table space. Both bedrooms have double doors opening up to a large balcony with stunning sea, village and countryside views.
Outside the tiled, infinity style pool is surrounded by sun-bathing terraces and is furnished with stylish chairs, loungers and tables. There is a BBQ for guests use.
Villa Tigga is a luxury villa; ideal for couples and smaller parties with the added benefit of the double sofa bed it will sleep a maximum of 6. The villa is fully centrally heated so is a good choice for a stay at the beginning or end of the season when evenings may turn chilly and heating may be required.

Local activities in and around Plaka, Crete
Almirida and Kalives - The White Mountains dominate the area and provide a dramatic backdrop to the sandy beaches at Almirida, Kalives and Georgeoupolis. The Apokoronas area is also well known for its traditional inland villages such as Vamos, Kefalas, Plaka and Kokkino Chorio. In the last few years visitors from Northern Europe have become so enchanted with Apokoronas that many have bought homes here which has brought new life and tourist facilities to the area. This also means that there are now sophisticated and luxury villas available to rent in Crete. Most of our properties are situated slightly inland, away from the madding crowd, in the most sought after locations but with the beaches and sea close at hand.
The large bay that makes up the seaside resorts of Almirida and Kalives has many separate, safe, sandy beaches, usually with full facilities. Almirida, once a fishing village is now a thriving seaside resort with a windsurfing school and tavernas and bars lining the sea front. There are a couple of mini-markets, a bakery, patisserie, a wine shop and a newsagents. Mountain bikes can be hired and there is also a small taxi rank. There is a limited bus service to Kalives and Chania. Just at the entrance to Almirida archeologists discovered an ancient Mosaic which belongs to the 5th century.
Kalives is a working village as well as being a tourist destination so in addition to the beaches, tavernas, bars and tourist shops you will find many local shops as well as a fairly big supermarket. Banking, post office and petrol station facilities are available in Kalives. There is a bus service to Chania.

Rental Notes: Ask us for a booking form!
We require a deposit of just 10% (minimum £50 per week) with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to the start of the rental.
The normal change-over day is Tuesday to fit in with charter flights from the UK to Chania airport (30 minutes drive).
Flights to Heraklion (1 1/2 hours drive) are available most days of the week either on a charter flight or scheduled with BA/Easyjet who fly from Gatwick and Manchester and Jet 2 who fly from Leeds/Bradford airport.
Whilst we have to keep to Tuesday for changeovers in July and August we are flexible about the change-over day at other times. Please ask and we will do our best to accommodate you if we can.
