This beautiful monumental farmhouse (knooppunt 61) is located in the picturesque village of Geijsteren. The farm dates from around 1800 and belongs to "Landgoed Geijsteren". This domain is located on the border of the provinces Brabant and Limburg. You will stay in a recently fully renovated farmhouse called "De Lindenhof". The front is located on a square where you will experience the village conviviality, at a Sunday concert by the fanfare for example. Through the back door you will be directly amidst nature. A large garden that goes over to 2 hectares of fields, borders on a wide area of woods and fields. The view on the fields is gorgeous. There are many sitting corners and terraces with a sitting corner created under the former 'cart shed'. There is enough space to relax, play or even kick a ball around in the field.
Geijsteren is one of the 'Maas villages' and has a special and significant place in this river landscape. Start you journey of discovery from Knooppunt61, and be dazzled by the many North Limburg museums, castles, churches and convents (where you spontaneously could listen to one of the 'concerts on location'), but also by the quiet paths which will lead you past farmhouses to unspoilt nature spots.
You also will find fabulous, signposted cycling and walking paths here over an extensive network with a total length of 3000 km. In short: you are in a region with many possibilities where the yellow ferries sail between the villages on both sides of the Maas.
You can make lovely walks along the Maas, over the domain Geijsteren, along crop fields, paths and peat land or over the Pieterpad which runs directly along Knooppunt 61. Enjoy fabulous natural beauty and a 1000 hectare walking area directly accessible from Knooppunt 61. In the direct proximity there are great cycling paths on both banks of the Maas. You can cycle through the whole region via a network of paths. Nature lovers will definitely feel at home here.
Besides the beautiful nature in the direct proximity you can make excursions from knooppunt 61 to numerous attractions in the region. A visit to farmhouse-restaurant de Boogaard and cafe-snackbar Het Trefpunt (both within walking distance) is definitely worth it.
