The Podere is a Traditional Tuscan Cottage situated on a hilltop with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside (olive groves, vineyard, pine trees) just outside the medieval village of Campiglia Marittima, near Populonia (on the coast in front of the Elba Island, in the Val Di Cornia).
The cottage downstairs is made up of a spacious living / dining area, kitchen, one twin bedroom and one double bedroom with bathroom and upstairs there is a second double bedroom and a single bedroom and a second bathroom. The cottage sleeps 6 (max 7). The Podere has private parking and is there is a terrace with a BBQ.
The cottage is an easy walk, through the garden, from the village and a 10-15 minute drive to the coast. The cottage's extensive land borders the archaeological park of San Silvestro. Thanks to nature conservation in the area (which is made up of several nature reserves) the Podere garden is has interesting flora and fauna.
A mere stone's throw from the Island of Elba , the Val di Cornia nature reserve - unique in Italy. The numerous Etruscan archaeological parks in the area are near enough to one another to enable visitors to explore the whole territory during their stay.
The Podere is an easy 10-15 minute drive to the the coast and to towns of interest. There are plently of shops and supermarkets in the area, in the villages of San Vincenzo, Venturina and Campiglia Marittima. There are also many restaurants in the area, specialised in sea food, or local dishes (wild boar, pheasant, etc.)
Regards the local beaches, there are several options for spending a day at the seaside: la Carbonifera, Baratti Gulf, Rimigliano are all in very easy reach and there is always a day trip to the Island of Elba to consider.
There is a large outdoor swimming pool with slides in the village of Venturina just five minutes away.

Local activities in and around Campiglia Marittima, Tuscany
Visits archeological/natural parks - Starting in the Coastal Parks of Sterpaia and Rimigliano where the sea merges into the green woods and pine forests, the visitor may proceed to the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia and discover the remains of the only Etruscan city to be built on the sea. The source of the wealth of Populonia was the iron industry. Thence to the San Silvestro Archaeological Mines Park where traces have been left by the men who down the years have mined the rocks of the Campiglia area to extract metal ores. This itinerary ends among the hills in the Natural Park of Montioni, where the visitor may explore the forest and discover remains of a mining village of the Napoleonic era, and in the Forest Park of Poggio Neri, where hiking paths weave through oak and chestnut woods.
Visit towns and villages: Siena (1 hour and half), San Gimignano (1 hour and half), Volterra (1 hour), Florence (2 hour), Suvereto (half hour), Castagneto Carducci (half hour) and others.
