Rental Notes: A beautiful house in Friesland, well liked especially
by Germans and English. The owner has interesting
tips: The Finhus is located on the channel. It comes
from the Morra/Fluessen, which are lakes. The house is even reachable
by boat. It is quiet in the surrounding: only birds
and ducks are heard. You can make lovely cycling
trips. Bicycles are for hire at Kemker (Shell garage
in the town). During the winter, after several days of
frost, you can skate on natural ice of the ice rink
within several metres from the house. With severe
frost, you can skate in front of the door. Heerenveen
(Thialfstadion) is a 40-minute drive from Koudum.
Workum is a pleasant village with lovely shops. You
will even find the Jopie Huisman museum there.
A nice and easy way to visit the capital of Fryslan, Leeuwarden, is to take the train at Koudum/Molkwerum. 45 minutes later you are in the city centre.
