This recently refurbished cottage lies only 1.8 km from one of Ireland´s finest beaches (Rossbeigh Beach) in an absolutely quiet area overlooking Ireland´s highest mountains, the McGillycuddy´s Reeks(about 1200m). It is approx. 3 km from the pittoresque village of Glenbeigh on the world-famous Ring of Kerry on its own large grounds.
The village of Glenbeigh has more to offer than most other villages in Ireland among others some fine, old pubs, good restaurants and plenty of activity for everyone. Take-overday:Sundays only
The cottage consists of an open-plan living & dining-room area cum kitchen. The sitting-room has an open fire, 2 couches and a Sat-TV with mainly Irish and German stations, the dining-room contains a table and 5 chairs, the built-in kitchen the cooker, the fridge, the microwave and the washing-machine. There are 3 bedrooms: one with a double; one with two singles and a third one with a single and a cot. The bathroom offers a shower, the toilette and a bath. You also have a little hall. There is plenty of space for up to 5 people.
The house is heated by two separate systems a) night-storage heaters (we recommend them for outside the winter period) and b) oil-fired central-heating(mainly for the winter months). You also have an open fire. Outside there is a large garden back and front with flower-beds, palm trees and a huge lawn. The garden is spectacularly surrounded by a dense rhododendron hedge. You have a patio with picnic-bench, garden-chairs and car park at your disposal. Take-over day:Sunday only

Local activities in and around Killarney, South West
Glenbeigh and its surroundings offer plenty of activities: Swimming and all kinds of watersports at Rossbeigh Beach (1,8 km), 4m of safe, sandy beach at peak-times with life-guards on duty.
Golfing: Apart from the local Dook´s golf-club one of the top 5 links in the country (18 hole, par 71,5582 meter), there are four more of the top-ten in the neighbourhood among them world-famous Mahoney´s Point and Killeen in Killarney (25 m), Waterville (25 m)and Tralee (30m). But literally every village has its own course such as Killorglin (10m) or Beaufort (14m). Angling at Rossbeigh Beach is for sea-bass and flat fish. The rocks of Kells Bay for mackrele and pollock. Caragh River and Lake for Salmon and trout.
Deep-sea angling from the nearby ports of Cahirciveen, Portmagee or Knightstown on Valentia Island. Horse riding: there are two local riding stables in Glenbeigh for rides on the beach or in the dunes.
Walking / hill-walking:the house is situated on the "Kerry Walk", Ireland´s most famous walking tour.
From the house you look at the McGillycuddy´s Reeks, Ireland´s highest mountains and an eldorado for hill-walkers. Cycling: there are two places where you can hire a bike. Canoeing:i deal on the beach and Behy River. Paragliding: from the hill behind the house, a local centre for this.Touring: Glenbeigh is situated on the "Ring of Kerry" one of the great panoramic roads of the world (approx.100m).
Other sights to see:the Dingle Peninsula, Derrynane National Park( 30m), the highlands of Glencar (15m), but most of all the Skellig Rocks, 2 islands 7 sm off the coast, a trip, your host,an author of tourist-guides to Ireland would strongly recommend.
Eating & Drinking: In Glenbeigh you will find 2 shops, 4 to 5 pubs (among them the oldest in Ireland), 3 restaurants, and a couple of shops.
