This stylish holiday home is situated in the characteristic heart of the Frisian village of Jirnsum and is on the premises of a pretty stelp farmhouse. Jirnsum is on the Boarne, a small river directly connected with the popular Frisian lakes. There are several locations from where you can hire a boat and go sailing the high seas, canoeing over small canals with a picnic on the way or take a cruise with a motorboat along picturesque locations. With its central location on a junction between cycling- and walking routes, Jirnsum is an ideal operating base for any excursions imaginable; the Frisian cities with art and culture, nature reserves of ôit Fryske Geaö and several picturesque villages such as nearby Grou, a pleasant village that every year plays host to the start of the ôskûtsjesilenö. Jirnsum is short distance from some great nature reserves such as ôDe Alde Feanenö and ôde Deelenö. These areas with their characteristic turf ponds, reed borders, rare plants and animals are more than worthy of a visit in any season. There are also enough possibilities for an active or even sportive holiday. There are for example, many short and long walking- and cycling paths. For the children, there is of course, the Chameleon Village of Terherne where all sorts of known places from the Chameleon books and films can be discovered. In the middle of the stylish village is a large farmhouse in which the complete village has been reproduced including church towers and mills. Trips can be made over the lakes with the ôChameleonö in the summer.
