Superb for couples, groups or families, the Tamplier complex is built to the highest specifications, and offers not only a quality restaurant and lounge bar; Tamplier's Spa centre includes a beautiful indoor pool, two Massage areas, two Physiotherapy areas, Fitness Center, Solarium, two Swedish Saunas, two changing rooms, large Jacuzzi, Steam room and Turkish bath. Massage and physiotherapy sessions can be booked at Reception. Ski lockers and a games room are also on site.
The apartment is on the 1st floor (lift on the premises) of the new Tamplier Complex on Pirin Street, and is just 500 yards from the gondola station, 10 minutes walk from Bansko's modern town square and 5 minutes walk from the traditional stone houses, mehanas (taverns) and cobbled streets of the old quarter.
Bansko is a beautiful mix of old and new. It is described in the ‘Lonely Planet’ guidebook as “the shiniest jewel in Bulgaria’s tourism crown…a base for top notch skiing and superb hiking in the summer”. Most of the shops and cafes are located along the pedestrian mall ("ul Tsar Simeon") near the town centre, along with banks, post office and ATM's.
Bansko is superbly geared for apres ski, whether you prefer to eat and drink in its modern restaurants, trendy bars and nightclubs, or in the more traditional "mehanas" or taverns in the old town - which provide traditional fare at competitive prices. Or you can also eat in Tamplier's 4-Star restaurant, again at reasonable prices. Live music is not uncommon at many restaurants and taverns. The Happy End Restaurant by the Gondola transforms itself into a club in the evenings; Amnesia club in the town centre; the Night Club in Pirin; the Karaoke Bar in Bansko, the Buddha Bar Club and Club No Name on Tsar Simeon Str.
Summer/Off-Season Hiking: There are 13 primary and 17 secondary marked hiking trails which link 13 huts and shelters throughout the Pirin National Park, and many shuttle buses are available throughout the summer months to take hikers, sightseers and day trippers up through the fragrant, pine covered mountainside to the beginning of these uncrowded trails.

Local activities in and around Bansko, West and Mountains
Bansko was voted Europe's most improved ski resort in the first Great Skiing and Snowboarding Guide 2006 awards by the Daily Telegraph, and has the best winter-sports facilities in Bulgaria. Bansko's ski runs are kept in prestine condition by the most technically advanced piste equipment in the world, which includes ample snow cannons that keep the pistes open when others in Bulgaria have to close. Bansko has an exclusive 16-kilometre uninterrupted ski run that starts from Todorka Peak at 2600 metres, and ends at the newly built Gondola cable car on the outskirts of Bansko.
In total, there are 17 pistes, five 4-seat lifts, one 3-seat lift, 6 drags and 10 baby drags and a further gondola cable car is planned, ensuring that skiers from beginners to experts can enjoy the runs. Ski passes are fitted with micro-chips which can be read even through clothing and rescue services include a short-code mobile phone number for skiers in trouble. Facilities also include off-piste skiing, biathalon, guided cross country skiing, non-skiing kintergarden, a snowboarders fun park and a half-pipe facility. You can also try night skiing, or skating at the new Ice Rink a few minutes walk from the apartment.
Bansko plays host to the International Jazz Festival in August each year. The live entertainment takes place in the main pedestrian square with lots of atmosphere, helped along by the local beer, which costs about 40p for half a litre! (Often preceded by a beer festival with live music the week before as well).

Banya - Therapeutic Thermal Springs
The village of Banya is nestled in the heart of three mountains – Pirin, Rila and the Rhodope Mountains, and is 5 km away from Bansko. It is famous for its many mineral hot springs which have highly therapeutic qualities. The healing effects of the thermal springs in these mountains have been famous since antiquity. There are more than 70 hot mineral water springs in Banya with an average temperature of 58º C. In the village there is mud-bath and swimming pool suitable for medical treatment. Construction of a major contemporary balneological (hydrotherapy) center is due to start next year.

Local Management: We use a Scottish property management company based in Bansko who will meet you with your keys at the Tamplier Complex, show you to your apartment and get you oriented as to where things are in the complex. They will leave their contact details with you so that should you have any problems during your stay they will be able to help you. They will also arrange to pick up the apartment keys from you at the end of your stay.
