La Petite Fouiniere is a newly renovated traditional Vendeen stone farmhouse nestling in the Vendee Bocage between the villages of Saint Florent de Bois and La Chaize Le Vicomte. The house has all the modern comforts you want on holiday - this is a truly luxury holiday home but keeping all the french character you would want.
The house is set in its own land and surrounded by countryside with unspoilt views. It is completely private and has it's own PRIVATE heated swimming pool. There are extra features like a cinema in the front room, egyptian cotton bedlinen and towels, but a really good feature is that it has it's own self-contained adjoining apartment (think parents and teenagers!!)
The house is maintained by the owners to a high standard.

There is a large hallway with a very handy separate cloakroom. A big sitting room with two big squashy sofas, large TV (English and French satellite) and surround sound cinema with a big screen. There are loads of DVD's, and a play-station. Wood burning stove (you won't need this in the summer - but this house is great in the Winter as well).
The kitchen has a traditional feel, but is equipped for 21st century cooking. It has all the modern appliances you would expect (range cooker, dishwasher, big fridge). The table sits 10 comfortably, and there is another wood-burning stove. You will find all your basic kitchen essentials (washing up liquid, bin bags, foil, cling film- the stuff that you need). There is a washing machine in a separate utility area.
One double bedroom is located on the ground floor, as well as a bathroom, and separate toilet. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs. Two twin rooms with 2 single beds in each, and a master double bedroom (this room has got a king-size four-poster) with en-suite shower room. We have got all the equipment you would need for babies - high chair, cot, changing mat, sterilizer, and can lend you an all terrain 3 wheel pushchair for walks or the beach. Stairgates can be put up for your stay - should you need them.
Outside: There is a shaded seating area with a gas and charcoal barbecue (whatever your preference). There is good quality garden furniture, and for around the pool plenty of sun-loungers. The pool does have a safety fence which can be removed if preferred.
You go through a door to the apartment which has kitchen/living/dining room, double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The entire property will sleep 10-12 people (12 people if the sofa-bed is used in the apartment). It is perfect for a large family, and can comfortably accommodate 2 families.

3 Double Bedrooms, 2 Twin Bedrooms. The bedrooms are all well-sized - the master bedroom with the four-poster is huge! All the beds are new and comfortable.
Bathrooms:
1 Bathroom, 2 Showers, 2 Separate WC's. There is a bathroom with a shower above the bath on the ground floor. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room and the apartment has an en-suite shower room as well.
Real Fire, Central Heating, Maid Service, Telephone, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. We provide luxury bedlinen and towels (pool towels included). Of course the end of stay clean in included in the price.
Dining:
Seating for 10. The dining table is in the rustic kitchen, and is big enough for 10-12 people.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Satellite TV, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. In the lounge there is both French and English satellite TV. A huge selection of DVDs, and a surround sound cinema system complete with projector and large cinema screen.
Outside:
Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. The pool is private and heated with a large lawned garden around. There is a shaded terrace with a choice of gas or charcoal BBQ.

Local activities in and around La Roche Sur Yon, Charente/Vendee/W. Loire
Local attractions: Close to the house we can offer walking, cycling, horse-riding, and micro-lighting. A little further away is the coast (about 40 mins). This region really does have the best beaches in France, some favourites are Plage Vellion at Port Bourgenay, La Tranche, Longeville Sur Mer, and Les Sables D'Olonne. There are loads of sporting activities on the coast including sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, surfing and sand-sailing. If you wish to spend a day sailing we can arrange a charter on a Beneteau Oceanis with a skipper out of Sables D'Olonne.
There are Chateaus to visit close by, many with guided tours and kids activities, particularly good is the Chateau at Talmont St Hilaire.
Eating and Drinking: We are close to La Roche sur Yon which has loads of good restaurants - as well as French you can get Italian, Morroccan, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian, to name a few. If you would like to try a Michelin starred restaurant try Villa Dilecta, or Cayola at Sables D'Olonne. Also in La Roche the food market on a Saturday morning is well worth a visit. In the village we have a bistro that does nice crepes, salads, pizzas etc, and all the shops you need for self-catering - an excellent bakery, deli, and little supermarket. There is also a very cheap(but very good) wine shop.
Golf!
There are two 18 hole golf courses locally - one at Nesmy (10 minutes away), and one at Port Bourgenay - I don't know anything about golf, but they are meant to be really good! We can lend you a set of clubs if you need them.
