Coruanan Farmhouse sleeps 6 and has a view directly onto Ben Nevis and the surrounding hills and loch. Druimarbin Farmhouse sleeps7-9 and faces due west over Loch Linnhe. Both are situated in totally private and tranquil locations on a private estate, a mile apart from each other and have three/four star awards from the Highlands of Scotland Tourist Board. Although quite remote they are only three miles from Fort William.
Whether you want to explore the great outdoors, tour the Western Isles, walk, climb or ski, what could be better than to escape from the pressures of life and unwind beside an open log fire in the midst of such wonderful scenery.
Coruanan Farmhouse is a traditional two storey West Highland Farmhouse with an interesting historical background. It boasts some of the best views in Lochaber with a direct outlook onto Ben Nevis and also Loch Linnhe.
The house has been decorated to a very high standard with every possible amenity. It has three twin bedrooms and three bathrooms (two en-suite). A sitting room with an open log fire and a kitchen/dining room. It is truly comfortable. Other advantages are a drying cupboard, telephone, colour TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble drier, microwave and fridge freezer as well as full central heating and double-glazing. A cot can be provided by arrangement.
In 1745, the site was the home of the standard bearer to Lochiel (Clan Cameron Chieftain) during the Jacobite Rebellion of "Bonnie Prince Charlie". The standard was found at the turn of the century hidden in one of the old buildings where it had lain since "Bonnie Prince Charlie's" defeat at Culloden Moor. It now has pride of place at Achnacarry Castle, which is still the home of the present Lochiel.

Local activities in and around Fort William, Highlands & Islands
Although quite remote, these two farmhouses are only three miles from Fort William which makes self-catering easy with a large Safeway's separated from the town with it's own car park. There are many shops and restaurants in the town as well as a cinema, museum, tourist information centre, heated indoor swimming pool, leisure complex with snooker, a bowling alley, fitness centre and small children's play area. There is a wonderful scenic steam train, which travels from Fort William to Mallaig.
For those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors there are two golf courses locally, skiing (with a cable car open in the summer for spectacular hill walking) pony trekking, fishing, climbing and water sports as well as a chance to see many species of birds and wildlife. This area of Lochaber boasts itself to be one of the few areas of Great Britain still to have otters, red squirrels, pine marten, golden eagles and the occasional wild cat. There is a wonderful island of seals nearby which can be visited on a boat trip from the town's pier, and if you are lucky you might even see dolphin or whales.
Apart from the fascination of several great films and television programmes having been made in the area, such as Braveheart, Rob Roy, The Harry Potter Series and Monarch of the Glen to name but a few, there is so much history to absorb all around that it would take a lifetime to find it all. However Druimarbin and Coruanan Farmhouses are very well situated for visiting many historical sites as well as exploring the mystical and romantic islands of the West Coast, such as Skye, Mull, Iona, Staffa, Rum and Eigg etc., all within a day's trip.
