Located just one mile from the picturesque village of Smarden, close to Pluckley, reputed to be the most haunted village in Kent, is this divine holiday home. Smarden village boasts good pubs, a Post Office, telephone box and butchers shop which stocks everyday requirements. Trains for London from nearby Headcorn station where there are many delightful shops, factory clothes shop and small supermarket. Ashford with its Leisure Centre, cinemas, sports complex and designer outlet for shopping is approximately 12 miles distant. This is an ideal area for touring the many castles, gardens, National Trust properties, vineyards and walking.
Access to the cottage is via security gates and a gravel drive with ample parking directly beside the accommodation. A stable door leads directly into the very prettily decorated living area with tiled floor throughout the ground floor, a light and airy feel with large windows overlooking the gardens and pond. Two cream and blue settees, an armchair, round dining table with rattan chairs, colour TV/video and coffee table all conspire to make this a delightful living/dining room. Door through to the exceptionally well equipped and very pretty kitchen with shaker style wall and floor units, wood effect worktops and complimentary coloured wall tiles, a stainless steel electric oven and hob, microwave, integral fridge with freezer compartment, integral dishwasher, automatic washing machine/drier, brand new high quality cookware, crockery and utensils and a radio/CD player with a selection of music to choose from. Undercupboard lighting and ceiling spotlights complete this super kitchen.
Cream carpeted stairs lead up to the two excellent bedrooms and superior bathroom. There is the original doorway on this landing with stairs leading down the exterior of the property. The spacious landing houses an airing cupboard and storage cupboard well stocked with ironing equipment, vacuum cleaner and other cleaning materials. The super double bedroom with gorgeous cream iron Laura Ashley bedstead has a wardrobe, chest of drawers with mirror, 2 bedside tables with lamps and very pretty curtains adorning the windows overlooking the grounds. The charming second bedroom with twin beds has a bedside table and chairs, pine wardrobe and chest of drawers. The fabulous fully tiled bathroom has a bath with superb fixed head shower over, a WC, washbasin and mirror with shaver light. Towels are supplied neatly stored in pretty wicker baskets.
