Squirrel Lodge is a tranquil riverside holiday lodge by the River Tilt, in Blair Atholl. It is situated in an idyllic location, set amid stunning mountain scenery at the foot of Glen Tilt. It sleeps six people, and provides that perfect escape, to get away from it all, whilst providing easy access to impressive local amenities.
Squirrel Lodge provides the ideal base for outdoor activities, such as hill-walking, mountain biking, golfing, or watersports, and for exploring Highland Perthshire, to enjoy its fabulous scenery and rich and fascinating history. The lodge is spacious and comfortable and has superb on-site facilities so its perfect in all weathers, all year round.
Easily accessible, the lodge is only a few minutes’ drive from the A9, and ten minutes walk from the village train station, which is on the main route north to Inverness.
Squirrel Lodge can easily sleep six adults, accommodation comprises: Fully fitted double bedroom, with en-suite, large second bedroom with bunk beds. Furthermore, there is a double sofa bed in the main living room. All linen is supplied.
Large and comfortable lounge, with feature fireplace, two double sofas, tv/dvd player/ cd stereo. Fully fitted kitchen, equipped to a high standard, with gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board. Conservatory dining area with access to external patio. Main bedroom has en-suite shower room, with heated towel rail, and a family shower room is adjacent to the second bedroom. Towels are provided.
French doors open onto a large decking area, from the living room, providing a private external seating area with wooden patio furniture. There are three dedicated parking spaces by the lodge. Onsite you will find the Steadings Spa with a good size swimming pool, toddlers’ pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and well equipped gym. On-site facilities include the award-winning, and highly reccomended Loft Restaurant and Bistro, mini tennis and laundry facilities. At Waves Salon on-site, spa treatments are available including facials, massages, hot stone therapy, waxing, St Tropez tanning, reflexology and aromatherapy. The estate of Blair Castle is a short walk away and provides year round activites to suit all interests and ages. Squirrel is a non-smoking lodge, and pets are not permitted.

Local activities in and around Blair Atholl, Central Scotland
In the village of Blair Atholl, you will find a good variety of shops for your daily needs, the Water Mill tea room, which is highly reccomended, serving home baking and light lunches, the Atholl Arms Hotel, with restaurant and the famous Bothy Bar, serving hearty meals and with a good selection of locally brewed beers. There is also a superb Fish and Chip Shop and Pizzeria a few minutes walk from the lodge.
Attractions locally include the magnificent Blair Castle, the Atholl Country Life Museum, the Clan Donnachaidh Centre, the Killiecrankie Visitor Centre and the Blair Atholl Water Mill. The House of Bruar is just four miles away.
There are a huge selection of hill walks in the area including Beinn a'Ghlo, Ben Vrackie, Ben Vuirich, Beinn Dearg and Beinn Bhreac. The hills are rugged and remote and have superb views over Atholl and the Cairngorms. There is also a wide selection of delightful short walks at the Atholl Estates, Falls of Bruar, Pass of Killiecrankie and Struan.
For golfers there is a nine hole course at Blair Atholl, adjacent to the site, and the scenic Pitlochry course is nearby. Within half an hours drive are Dunkeld, Aberfeldy and Taymouth Castle courses.
There are fantastic opportunities locally for mountain biking, fishing, deer stalking, game shooting, off road driving, pony trekking and watersports.
Nearby Pitlochry is home to the famous Festival Theatre and hydro-electric dam with salmon ladder and within a short drive are four famous whisky distilleries – Edradour, Blair Athol, Aberfeldy and Dalwhinnie. A treat for any pallete.
To the north, there is Aviemore, providing an vast range of activities, for the outdoor enthusiast, including four of the five highest peaks in the UK, ski-ing at Cairngorm, and numerous trails to walk or cycle.
To the south, the lovely city of Perth awaits your visit and exploration.
On the A9 follow signs for Blair Atholl (north of Pitlochry). On arrival in the village follow signs for River Tilt Park. Bear right in the park, down the hill. The lodge is the second on the right.

Rental Notes: Bookings are from Friday to Friday - arrival from 4pm and departure by 10am on relevant days.
