Beautifully postioned and well-appointed mountain chalet with 800 m2 of garden. Spectacular views of Mont Blanc Massif. A few minutes walk from village centre and only minutes drive from ski slopes. This chalet was totally renovated in 2006. The contemporary design incorporates the shell of the old chalet with a new glazed extension. The interior has been redone to a high specification using the most up to date materials and finishes.
The chalet is on 3 levels: The ground floor comprising a utility/drying room, 2 bedrooms with a shared en-suite Moroccan style bathroom. The 1st floor with a twin bedroom and walk-in wet room shower and toilet. On this level you will also find a brand new red fitted kitchen and a comfy double height living room/dining area with wood burner. Glazed doors lead onto a magnificent high level sun deck with beautiful mountain views. The 3rd floor has the master bedroom and and a ‘chill out’ TV room overlooking the living area with double sofa bed.
Perched in the mountain side, the Chalet is 10 mins walk up the hill or 5 min walk down hill, directly above Les Houches village, which is situated about 5 minutes drive from Chamonix. 1 minute drive to the lifts, a car is advised but not essential, as free bus service takes you to lifts in Les Houches and other resorts. It is well placed to take advantage of the variety of ski areas in the Mont Blanc area, including St Gervais, Megeve, Combloux, Les Contamines, Courmayeur.
Les Houches has loads of tree lined runs, excellent for beginners & intermediates with loads of off piste powder trails. Other Chamonix ski area including the Grand Montet, Brevent, Mont Blanc, Flegere and Le Tour are just up the valley by car, the skiing potential in the area is endless. Les Houches itself is quieter than its larger neighbour, so retains some of the charm of an alpine village and can actually provide ski-in, ski-out accommodation - a rarety indeed in the Chamonix Valley

There are 22 ski runs )55 km of pisted ski runs) served by 18 lifts. There are also 86 snow cannons covering 23 hectacres - just in case! Ski Schools: There are 3 ski schools operating in Les Houches, ESF, Ski Sensations and Evolution 2. We can book lessons for you. Ski Hire: There are approx 10 ski hire shops in Les Houches. We will arrange and collect equipment for you. Guiding and Ski Touring: We can offer guiding by internationally qualified UIAGM High Mountain Guides. So whether you would like a day out on the Vallee Blanche or a day Ski Touring to find some of the isolated snow fields far from the bustling pistes. Or a day Ice Climbing or learning about Mountain Safety and Cravasse Rescue. We will be very happy to arrange activities for you
Summer in Chamonix: Les Houches: Most people think of the Chamonix Valley as a winter ski resort - but there are actually more visitors here in the summer. The visitors come to pursue such activities as mountain biking, walking, climbing, golf, fishing, paragliding and water sports. The lifts are open in summer to give access to the higher mountain playgrounds for walkers and mountain bikers alike. In Summer the streets are lined with flowers. The sound of cow bells can be heard. There are markets, visiting circus', carnivals, climbing competitions, craft fayres, music and beer festivals. We even stage a Marathon! The days are usually long and hot and the evenings sweet scented and cool. Paragliding:Take a tandem flight - see the valley from a different perspective. Or learn to fly - courses are available for beginners. Chamonix's famous 18-hole Championship Golf Course in Les Praz. Children Kid Adventure situated by lake Chavant in Les Houches offers 20 activities.

Mountain Biking: Les Houches has invested heavily in this sport to bring you the very best dedicated, graded trails for all abilities. Lifts are open June - September for downhill. Whichever path you take you will be surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery. Full or half day outings with an instructor can be arranged. Equipment can be hired from the local sports shops. Walking: From Les Houches there is easy access to three countries. For example take the teleferique to Bellevue and walk over the Col de Tricot to Les Contamines. Or drive through the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Then walk via Mont de la Saxe to Courmayeur in Italy. Or cross the Col de Trient to Switzerland. Tour of Mont Blanc: The 170Km (105 miles) route covers three countries and circumnavigates the magnificent 4807m Mont Blanc. Definitely one of the finest walking routes.
The skiing in the Chamonix Valley is spread over 5 separate areas which are linked by a regular and efficient bus service included in the lift pass. At the base of the Valley is Les Houches, best known for relaxed easy to intermediate runs with hidden restaurants, great off piste trails through the trees. Also holds annual downhill world cup. Brévent is close to Chamonix centre, in turn linked to La Flégère. Up the Valley is Les Grands Montets at Argentière and finally Le Tour. As the Valley cuts through the highest mountains in Europe, the skiing in Chamonix has a reputation for being among the best available. This reputation is built on the fact that Chamonix Mont Blanc has the world's biggest skiable vertical drop that is served by lifts (2807m). It also boasts one of the world's longest runs - 22 km through the Vallée Blanche - and staged the World's first Winter Olympics in 1924. People have been skiing here since 1893 and one of the first cable cars in the world opened in 1907.
A very easy run form Geneva airport, 1hr, can help book transfers for you. Having your own transport is ideal to get you to various ski areas with ease but not essential, as local free bus service.
