Gardener's Cottage, a delightful self-contained holiday property, is located in peace and tranquility in the beautifully landscaped grounds of an ancient beamed Wealden Manor House, dating from the 15th Century and which nestles in 15 acres of paddocks and fields.
Approached via security gates and a long private drive, Gardener's Cottage enjoys privacy at the far end of the Manor House with ample parking for guests beside the accommodation. Entrance is via a Stable door into the very pretty downstairs kitchen which has a tiled floor, well equipped Pine kitchen storage units, full size electric cooker, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave. A doorway leads through to the spacious shower room offering a shower in a cubicle, WC, washbasin, heated towel rail and automatic washing machine/dryer.
Wooden stairs lead up to the attractively presented living accommodation with stripped wooden flooring and colourful rugs. The spacious bright open plan living/bedroom with superb views over the surrounding countryside, provides a double bed, bedside tables with lamps, pretty cream and pine wardrobe, chest of drawers, comfortable armchairs, rattan coffee table, colour TV/video, clock/radio, large eaves storage cupboards and wall mirror. Across the landing, the second bedroom with wrought iron day bed also has a pretty dining table and 3 chairs.
To the front of the property is a private gravel courtyard and lawned garden with patio table, chairs and bench. Also available to guests is the owners' lawned garden and seating area adjacent to the large pond ( unfenced).
Central heating throughout this immaculate property is by oil with an electric immersion heater for hot water(summer).

Situated only a short drive from the village of Staplehurst where there are shops, church, pubs and mainline railway station to London or the coast, this is an excellent location for visiting nearby Sissinghurst Castle and gardens, the exquisite Leeds Castle, Scotney and Bodiam Castle as well as the many other gardens, castles and historic houses which are all within easy reach of this central location in the heart of Kent. There are numerous National Trust properties to enjoy in the locality. Picturesque Cranbrook with its famous Union Windmill, shops, banks, pubs and sports centre and the delightful country town of Tenterden with antique shops, tea-rooms, restaurants, pubs, the Kent & East Sussex steam Railway and Leisure Centre are both a short distance away. Ideal for both sightseeing and shopping are the historic towns of Tunbridge Wells, the Cathedral city of Canterbury and the cinque port of Rye. For trips to Europe, the Eurotunnel terminal in Ashford or ferry terminal at Dover are within a 30 minute drive.
