This beautifully renovated detached country house with private pool and spa bath has wonderful views across the Apuane Mountains. There is a large garden with a paved area and other private areas with chairs, tables, deckchairs and BBQ. The large swimming pool is of the infinity type, giving the impression of swimming into the air above the valley below. There is also a luxurious state of the art enclosed hydro jacuzzi. The house is luxuriously furnished with restored traditional furniture and the beamed ceilings and rich terracotta floors have been retained.
The house is on two floors, entered through a large entrance hall leading to a lounge with fireplace and satelite TV, dining room with fireplace, kitchen with freezer, dishwasher and oven, bathroom and bedroom with bunk beds. The first floor has a landing area with comfy seating opening to a panoramic terrace with chairs, master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and access to the terrace, another double bedroom, twin bedroom, and third bathroom with bathtub. Each room is tastefully furnished with restored antique country pieces and comfortable soft furniture.
Outside there are several areas to eat, including a wood burning pizza oven. As well as the full length balcony above, there is a shaded terrace immediately outside the front door, and a BBQ area round the side of the house. Next to the 13 metre infinity pool there is another shaded patio area and plenty of space for sunbathing.
The 6 people state of the art hydro spa, enclosed in a glass houe with views over to the "Dead Man Mountain" adds a touch of class which sets this villa apart from the rest.

Local activities in and around Pieve Fosciana, Tuscany
The Garfagnana area has been declared as a National Park. It is the best area in Tuscany for walking. The scenery is stunning, with the famous marble Apuane Mountains on one side of the valley, and the Apennine Mountains on the other. The area is very recreational, with outdoor sports such as Mountain biking, mountaineering, Canyoning and Horse riding. We are involved with an Outdoor activities centre and can help you to make arrangements. We also give detailed information and recommendations about the area.
There are many interesting villages to explore in the Garfagnana, never going more than a few kilometres at a time. The local market town of Castelnuovo is less than 10 minutes away, with its market and speciality shops. Also fairly nearby is the lovely ancient hill town of Barga, with its many galleries and restaurants.
A train can be taken to the famous walled city of Lucca, whilst Florence and Pistoia are within easy reach.
The local restaurant, around 1 mile away, is recommended in the Slow Food Guide. You may want to eat out often in Garfagnana, with the norm being quality, rustic cooking, always at an attractive price. A full lunch inclusive of wine and coffee costs 9/10 euros, whilst a main course in the evening is typically 7-10 euro.
From Lucca to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, then to Pieve Fosciana. There is a local Englsh speaking mini-bus taxi service who can pick-up at the airport and do local runs for a very good price.
