The sturdy Baltic tjalk 'Balder' was built in 1899 at shipwharf "De Goede" in Zwartsluis. After many cargo trips to the Baltic Sea, she was given a new function about 20 years ago. First as a houseboat, then as a sailing passenger ship. Throughout the years, a lot of effort was made to restore the upper deck to its original state. Below deck, the salon, galley and cabins combine cosiness with contemporary comfort. During your stay, the boat is moored off in the harbour of Stavoren. This lovely town is a perfect region for great hikes and lovely outdoor life, only to return to the ship for some good relaxation! Ideal for week-ends with family or friends...
