Dating back to the 17th century and full of original features with exposed beams throughout, honey coloured stonework and polished oak floors, the cottage at Maison Haute offers, away from it all, peace and tranquility. Sleeping four to six people in airy and spacious accommodation the cottage has a large pool (10m x 5m) and five acres of gardens and woodland to explore. We are perfectly situated in the golden triangle of Montignac, Sarlat and Les Eyzies with easy access to all of the most beautiful sites in Dordogne.
We are surrounded by forests, fresh water lakes fortified churches and chateaux and the near by village of Salignac Eyvigues, with all the amenities you may need. Our commune of Archignac historically dates back to the Roman times with mile after mile of wonderful footpaths with views and countryside to take your breath away. Close by are an array of actvities to suit all ages for which all the details are available in the cottage.
The entrance to the cottage is through a beautiful stone arched door way into a spacious open plan kitchen / diner with tiled floor and exposed ceiling beams and equipped with dish washer, fridge freezer, microwave, oven and hob and all the cutlery and crockery you may need. The kitchen with a window over looking the garden, has ample worktop space and the dining area has seating for six. There is also a laundry room with washing machine iron and ironing board.
The lounge area with tiled floors and exposed ceiling beams has comfortable sofas and chairs with TV and video. The channels available on the TV are BBC prime and BBC world news and numerous French channels. From the lounge area double French doors open onto a secluded walled terrace area with barbeque and patio furniture.
The first floor has a twin bedded room with polished floorboards, exposed stonework around the window and views over the rear terrace area. The shower room has a toilet, shower and sink. The reading room, with lovely views across the garden, is an ideal place for rest and relaxation with a selection of English and French books. It has polished wooden floors, exposed stonework, ceiling beams and a double folding sofa bed and may be used as an open plan bedroom.
On the second floor is a large double bedroom with beautiful ceiling beams, a pretty little dormer window overlooking the gardens, double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and vanity unit with wash basin. This room can easily accommodate a family should you wish to have your children in the same room.
We have a variety of activities available on site which include a large paddling pool, ball games, swings, table tennis, snooker and billiards. Three mountain bikes, a ladies bicycle and a gents racing bike are available for your use on request.
Friendly but un-intrusive owners live on site.

1 Double Bedroom, 1 Twin Bedroom. Should you wish to do so, the reading room on the first floor can be used as an open plan bedroom using the sofa bed as a double bed.

1 Shower. There is also a vanity unit with basin situated in the double / family bedroom.
Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided. There is also a separate laundry room with washing machine; ironing board; and iron.

Seating for 6.
Entertainment:
Satellite TV, Video, Board Games, Table Tennis. We have five bikes on site which you are free to use. There are also snooker / billiards, table tennis, badminton, boules, tennis rackets, sponge balls, swings and lots and lots of room to run around.
Outside:
Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. There is a private courtyard, with patio furniture and BBQ. Large above ground swimming pool (10mx5.5m x 1m30).The owners are happy to refrain from swimming whilst there guests are using the pool.

Local activities in and around Sarlat-la-Caneda, Aquitaine/Dordogne
The area is full of the prettiest market towns and villages to stroll around with stunning scenery, rivers, lakes and an abundance of history and historical buildings. There are numerous chateaux and caves to explore along with wonderful countryside and valley views around every corner.
There are markets every day throughout the summer season in different villages and towns; including some night markets. Two of our farmers in our Commune offer Auberge meals. These include food from their farms and wine at an all inclusive price. There are many places of archeological; anthropological and historical interest. Some are world famous - Lascaux Caves near Montignac; and Font de Gaume (cave paintings - as mentioned in Jean Auels latest book in the series Clan of the Cave Bears). Our immediate area caters for those interested in nature; walking; cycling; sketching; painting and specialist cooking at a School run by a Semi-finalist in Master Chef.
For those interested in an action packed holiday then the following are all close by, go karting, clay pigeon shooting, archery, horse-riding, helicopter flights, hot-air ballooning; golf, lake and river fishing, swimming at inland lakes and rivers, boating, canoeing, water sports and aqua parks.
The property is ideally situated. North West of Maison Haute, Pechaude is Montignac; North East is Terrasson and Brive; South West is Sarlat la Caneda; and South East is Souillac.
