Settle is a charming small market town with much to offer including pubs, restaurants and interesting shops as well as facilities for golf, swimming, fishing and a small theatre The cottage is an ideal base for walking, caving and generally exploring the fantastic countryside of the Yorkshire Dales. Within a few minutes walk from the front door is spectacular countryside.
Totally refurbished to a high standard throughout the emphasis is on comfort. The cottage is arranged over 3 floors and has 3 bedrooms: The Lounge has new comfortable sofas and a woodburner sited in a large fireplace with the original stone lintel. There is a 32" flat screen TV, DVD, Video, Hi-Fi, books and games. The kitchen/diner is well equipped with gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. There is plentiful workspace and the dining table can seat up to 8.
The main bedroom has a kingsize double and is easily large enough to accommodate a cot if required. It has a lovely view over the green and is equipped with a TV & Video. Bedroom 2 has 2 comfortable 3 foot single divan beds. Bedroom 3 is a lovely spacious room attic room with exposed beams with 3 singles and its gable end window enjoys extensive views over Settle and beyond. All bedrooms have bedside cabinets, table lights and adequate drawer & cupboard space.
The upstairs bathroom has new modern bath, toilet, basin and good size separate thermostatic shower and heated towel rail. It has been very nicely finished with wood flooring and tasteful tiling. The house is centrally heated from a modern combi boiler.
Outside is a small courtyard garden with patio and a building containing a dryer along with the storage for patio table & chairs, small barbecue and kindling for the woodburner. To the front of the house is the Old Settle Green and a minutes walk is a small play area. The Market Square/ Centre of Settle is less than 5 minutes walk away.
The area is a walkers delight with many good routes straight from the front door, Malham and the Pennine Way is a short drive or a magnificent walk away. Many other attractions are within easy reach such as the 3 peaks, Settle Falconry Centre, Skipton Castle, Forest of Bowland and Ingleton Caves. The Lake District too is within easy reach with Kendal less than an hours drive.
