This lovely villa is situated 15kms from Narbonne, in a residential area within easy walking distance of the attractive town of Sigean which has shops and restaurants. It has a large, south-facing, private garden, terrace and swimming pool.
The villa easily accommodates 6 people, and a baby, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms. It is centrally heated, comfortable and very well-equipped making it excellent for out-of-season holidays, as well as being a lovely holiday base in the summer months.
Sigean is situated about 3 kms from a large 'etang' or lake trapped between dunes and marshes, the sea and the plain. It's a unique place with pink flamingos, egrets and seagulls, cormorants, crested cranes and terns. The African Nature Reserve is very close by and provides a fascinating day out for both children and adults with over 3000 species of animals to see in 'close to natural' surroundings. The town of Sigean has narrow lanes to explore and the Museum of the Corbieres which not only exhibits local architectural finds, but has contemporary displays about trade, fishing and harvesting salt.
An interesting feature of this property is the ancient olive-oil mill in the garden. There's a great terrace with attractive garden furniture for al fresco dining or barbequing. You can enjoy playing boules in one area of the garden and children are well provided for with a number of outdoor games and ping pong. Both adults and children's bicycles are provided for your pleasure.

Local activities in and around Narbonne, Languedoc-Roussillon
Sigean is an interesting town well-serviced with restaurants, bars and local shops: bakers, butchers, grocers etc and a supermarket, so you don't have to travel far for your day-to-day needs. Available locally - tennis, fishing, horse riding, swimming, water sports, hiking, mountain-biking. Many of the local beaches are 'blue flag' - clean, and often supervised by life-guards in peak season.
There are plenty of attractions within easy reach - the African Nature Reserve just outside Sigean, and for wine-lovers Terra Vinea at Portel-des-Corbieres, just a few minutes away by car. Nature lovers will enjoy a visit to the Etang de Sigean et Bages to watch the pink flamingos and the all the other birds which visit this large lake. Narbonne and Perpignan are lively attractive towns well worth visiting. The medieval city of Carcassonne is less than an hour's drive and is a fantastic place to see and perhaps take the tour around the castle and ramparts.
Sigean has its own weekly market, as does Port La Nouvelle just down the coast. There is a large outdoor market in Narbonne on a Thursday morning and the fascinating indoor market hall 'Les Halles' is open every day except Sunday until about 1.30pm. There are both bars and restaurants in Sigean, and many more in Narbonne - 15kms. we will send more details of the local restaurants upon reservation.
The town of Sigean is about 15 mins drive from Narbonne. The nearest motorway junction in No: 39 on the A9 Languedocienne. Full directions will be given upon reservation.

Winter heating is included in the rental cost but end-of-stay cleaning is not included in the rental cost, there is a charge of €50 per week for cleaning.
Bed & bathroom linen is included in the rental cost but not the taxe de séjour which is payable to the owners at the guide rate of 0.51 euros per person per night.
Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 1000 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
Change over day: Saturday. There may be some flexibility in low season, subject to availability. Long weekend stays or mini-breaks: Are available out of season, please ask us for the price and availability.
