In the lush tranquil countryside of the Dordogne, La Croix is situated in the small hamlet of Fompeyrine, on the edge of the little village of La Chapelle Aubareil in between the mediaeval towns of Montignac and Sarlat. Whilst retaining its old world charm 'La Croix' is comfortable and well equipped for your holiday.

La Croix is an privately owned and run property which benefits from having its own swimming pool with beautiful views over the valley and a large private courtyard and garden. The house is situated at the end of the village with no access for other vehicles and is very child safe, there is however ample parking for several cars.
Retaining its old world charm the ground floor consists of a large comfortable farmhouse style kitchen / living room with cobbled floor, open fireplace and dining area. The kitchen is equipped to a high standard with excellent cooking facilities, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, etc.
There is a large 'summer room', again with views out over unspoilt countryside, a comfortable seating area with TV, DVD, telephone / internet connection (on request), and a shower room and WC.
The first floor consists of 3 good size bedrooms, 1 bedroom with double bed, 1 twin bedroom and 1 twin room with bunk beds, all with excellent storage and a further bathroom / shower room and W.C. (additional sleeping accommodation is available downstairs on double bed settee and if needed a baby cot can be provided at no extra charge).
There is an extensive garden with terraced patio to the front of the house, and a large private courtyard with original stone bread oven to the rear. Both patio and courtyard are supplied with a good range of garden furniture / barbecue etc.
The 10m. x 5 m. swimming pool has a large terraced area, and a 'summer kitchen' with fridge, sun beds and sun shades. The pool also benefits from the best views in the village, out over the valley towards the sunset, all set in 15 acres of unspoilt woodland.

Local activities in and around Montignac, Aquitaine/Dordogne
Situated between Montignac and Sarlat, Fompeyrine is ideally placed for many of the Dordognes attractions. The prehistoric limestone caves of Les Eyzies, Font de Gaume , Padirac and Lascaux, ( with its cave paintings dating back 14 thousand years. ) are just a short drive away.
The old fortified towns of towns of Domme and Montpazier and the vineyards of Bergerac and Cahors are all within comfortable driving distance, passing through many picturesque villages on the way.
The Dordogne is also home to some of the most spectacular chateaux in France, each with their own unique history and charm.
Fompeyrine is within a short drive of the rivers Vezere and Dordogne on which one can hire canoes, picnic on the river bank, swim in the clear waters and enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in France
Just 8 Km. from the house at 'Tamnies' there is a large fresh water lake, with a sandy beach, excellent facilities, (showers, changing rooms, etc.) and a small bar where you can book the use of the ajoining tennis courts. So whether you want culture, activity, or simply to relax and unwind, La Croix has something for you.
South from Limoges take directions 'Brive la Gaillard', at 'Brive' take directions 'Perigeux', at 'Le Lardin' take directions 'Montignac' at 'Montignac' take directions 'La Chapelle Aubareil'.
