'La Ferme Des Montaigu' is the perfect place to come and relax in the iydllic normandy countryside. Our 16th century farmhouse newly renovated in 2007 to an extremely high standard. We are set in 3 acres of beautiful grassland, orchards and gardens for everyone to relax and enjoy. On our doorstep is the 'Etang des Montaigu' 'the lake'. We have a variety of apple,pear & walnut trees to mention a few and together with our homegrown organic vegetables and herbs for our guests to enjoy. Our chickens , ducks, turkeys and rabbit enjoy the full freedom of our enclosed orchard and supply all our eggs for our homemade cakes, desserts and of course breakfast.

The beautiful valley's and woods are abound with widelife including deer, wild boar, birds of prey and red squirrels. There are many activities in the area including walking, fishing, horse riding, bird watching, and cycling. Right on our doorstep is the beautiful market town of 'Villedieu les poeles', only 5 mins away, or just a mere 30 mins drive is 'Le mont st Michel and Cancale or in the other direction you have the D Day landing beaches, memorials and museums.

Local activities in and around Villedieu Les Poeles, Normandy
There are many things to do whilst in normandy, right on our doorstep is the beautiful town of 'Villedieu les Poeles' famous for its bell foundry, copper pots and pans and it has an excellent weekly market. Le Mont st Michel the 2nd most visited place in france is only 40 mins away and just around the bay is Cancale where if you would like you can taste fresh oyster from the sea.
The Bayeux Tapestry is preserved and displayed in bayeux and dates back to 1476. Beautiful St Malo is a charming little town on the coast of Brittnay, it was a major resting nest for the pirates for centuries and its thick city walls date to that period. Champrepus Zoo provides you with the chance to discover a landscaped setting of the animal world and a variety of themed gardens for all to enjoy. Also a must to be seen whilst here in Normandy are the D Day landing beaches, memorials and museums.You also have Claude Monet's house and Gardens, Caen Memorial and much more. Or if you would like a day at the beach our nearest is only 15 km away, at Brehal, Granville port and Beahces or the beautiful coastline at Jouoville, great for the little to explore those rock pool and relax on the sandy beaches.
We are on the outskirts of the Hamlet of 'Montaigu les bois just off the D9, between the market towns of Villedieu les peoles and Gavray.
