Faugere is located nr. to Monflanquin in the heart of the Lot-et-Garonne countryside, which is often referred to as "The Tuscany of France" Set in two acres of gardens and situated at the end of its own track, which means no neighbours or passing traffic noise to spoil the tranquillity. The house is furnished and equipped to a high standard, so whether you are looking for a family holiday, house hunting or just a quiet romantic break for two, Faugere is the perfect choice. The house also has electric central heating throughout, making it ideal for out of season holidays or house hunting.
The situation of Faugere is trully idyllic; set in two acres with fruit trees, exotic plants, lily pond and plenty of grass for fun & games. The house enjoys 360 degree views over the beautiful counrtyside; from spring, with the white plum tree blossoms, through summer with bright yellow sunflowers to the spectacular colours of Autumn, the scenery is always breathtaking.
Faugere comprises a mellow stone farmhouse surrounded by a cluster of pretty stone outbuildings; together they once formed an ancient farming hamlet. Nowadays, the main house is the only habitable dwelling, ensuring peace, quiet and total privacy for you and your family and friends. The once vast stone barn has been imaginatively redesigned to incorporate the large, elevated swimming pool (12x6m) which is overlooked by a shady alfresco dining room; the perfect place to linger over long, lazy summer lunches and poolside evening drinks. From the pool terraces one can enjoy stunning, far reaching views over the rolling countryside of wheat, sunflowers and plum orchards.
Although Faugere is a rural paradise, it is far from isolated as the nearest boulangerie and restaurant are a mere five minutes drive. And a further ten minutes brings you to the hilltop medieval village of Monflanquin, voted "one of the prettiest villages in France". This 18th century farmhouse has been lovingly restored to provide bright, comfortable accommodation; retaining character but with the addition of all the mod cons. And with the accommodation all on one level and no interior steps, it makes the house suitable for those with limited mobility.
The pool, which conforms to the new safety standards, measures 12x6 meters and is one depth throughout, so it's ideal for all those pool games! A selection of fun inflatables are provided. The wide pool terraces are furnished with plenty of sunloungers with thick cushions for extra comfort. Pool towels are also provided free of charge. The pool is regularly maintained and is always kept crystal clear for your pleasure. From the pool terrace's elevated position you can enjoy full day sunshine and spectacular views over the pretty gardens and surrounding countryside without ever having to leave your sunlounger! Facilities at Faugere are for your own exclusive use and include: BBQ, Boules, Badminton. Table Tennis. Table football.

2 Double Bedrooms, 2 Twin Bedrooms. There are three pretty bedrooms within the main farmhouse, king, double & twin, plus an additional self contained twin bedroom attached to the pool barn. All have comfortable beds and quality linen.

1 Bathroom, 1 Shower. There are two bathrooms located at either end of the house, one with shower and the other with bath.

THE BASTIDE VILLAGES. Faugere is located 15 mins drive west of the exquisite medieval hilltop village of MONFLANQUIN; voted one of the "Prettiest Villages in France." Here, among its cobbled streets, you will find interesting shops and numerous good restaurants - to suit all budgets. There is a good weekly market held in the pretty center square and throughout the season it is home to many fairs and festivals, including antiques & flea markets and medieval re-enactments. Other celebrated villages are Villereal, which has an excellent market on Saturday mornings and many fairs throughout the year such as vintage cars and antiques. Monpazier, a trully stunning bastide, Beaumont, Castillonnes and Issigeac with its ancient narrow streets and 'not-to-be-missed' Sunday morning market.
WINE - If wine is you pleasure then you will be spoiled for choice with the number of Vineyards where you can sample and buy good local wine from Monbazillac, Buzet, Bergerac, Cahors, Duras and even the famous vineyards of Bordeaux and Saint Emillion are within easy reach! For those feeling more energetic there are plenty of other outdoor pursuits; including horse riding, the nearest center just 10 mins drive at Lougratte. Also at Lougratte you will find a large swimming pool with sandy beach, fun slides and restaurant.
GOLF - Faugere is popular with Golfers as we have 2 very good GOLF COURSES nearby. GOLF DE CASTELNAUD 18 HOLES is 10 mins drive and GOLF DE BARTHE 9 HOLES is 20 mins drive.
MARKETS - These are plentiful, some of the best are; Villereal, Castillonnes, Issigeac, Villeneuve, Bergerac, Monflanquin & Monpazier. Walking and Cycling are also popular in this area.
