High above the beautiful coast of Western Asturias, within a short drive to the picturesque ports of Cudillero or Luarca, is Teixidiello, a recovered abandoned village come back to life. Restored to its original charm, La Bouza is a stone cottage overlooking both the countryside and sea. You will feel among the privileged few to find such a hidden gem.
While the drive up may seem long at first, what you find upon arrival is well worth the effort; peace and quiet, waterfalls and brooks, dark forests, birds and the sound of cowbells across the valley. All this from the comfort of La Bouza, a small stone cottage with all the amenties of home.
On the first floor is the living area with its kitchen, dining area and a sofa/bed to sit in front of the fireplace. Dine inside or out on the stone patio. Upstairs is the spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom complete with a shower massage cabin. The bedroom has a spectacular view off the balcony and a door from the bedroom leads onto a grassy sitting area behind the cottage. The owners have thought of everything to insure your comfort and are available should you find you need something they missed. The fireplace warms the entire house easily in cold weather and solar panels provide more than enough hot water.
Teixidiello is a higland village once inhabited by "Los Vaqueiros", cattlemen who abandoned their mountain homes in the 60"s to work in the rising industrial areas. Time has left this hamlet unspoilt and the possibilities for walking, birdwatching, animal photographing, creek swimming are endless. For the restless, just 7Kms downhill begins civilization and the wealth of bars, restaurants, shopping and summer activities available on the coast.

1 Double Bedroom. Upstairs are the bedroom and ensuite bath. Enjoy the view out the balcony window or the grassy knoll through the backdoor off the bedroom. A corner sitting area for reading. Sofa/bed downstairs.

1 Bathroom. The en suite bathroom is equipped with a hydro-massage shower stall, sink and toilet.
Kitchen:
Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Washing Machine, Iron. An open kitchen with 2 electric burners. Well-equipped. Shared washing machine facilities are on the property.
General:
Real Fire, House Linen, Towels Provided. The cottage has been lovingly furnished and provided for by Ana. Anything you find you need simply ask. All linens are provided with the house. Firewood included.
Dining:
Seating for 4. The dining area opposite the kitchen is just right for 4 people. On sunny days you will want to dine outside on the table provided.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Satellite TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. This cottage is equipped for your enjoyment. Wireless internet access is availble if you have your own GPRS (3G) wireless modem. Bring your own books since you will want to relax and read.
Outside:
Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. La Bouza has a lovely stone patio out the front door between itself and El Teixo, the other cottage available. Just outside the backdoor from the bedroom is a grassy sitting area with shade trees.

The terrain around the property is hilly and walking is mostly up or down. You will not need a gynasium to stay in shape.
Local activities in and around Cudillero, North West
We encourage you to enjoy the natural surroundings of Teixidiello by partaking in walking, bird and animal watching, plant gathering, creek swimming and sunbathing. However, when the need arises, in fifteen minutes you can find yourself on sandy beaches, in local restaurantes, shopping, etc. Both Cudillero and Luarca are the closest port towns of size and they each offer different varieties of activities, gastronomy and shopping opportunities. San Martin is your first point of contact as you come down the mountain and there you have 2 good restaurants, a bakery, a chemist, a surgery, a deisel station and a post office with early morning hours. Market day in San Martin is Tuesday until 1pm. The local narrow guage train passes through San Martin 3 times daily and can be a fun alternative to the car especially for going to Oviedo, the cathedral capital or Gijon, the lively beach city.
Soto de Luiña is not far and is on the way to the beach. There you will find all your basic shopping needs. If not Cudillero and Luarca are close by while the large department stores and shopping malls are less than an hour away in Avilés, Gijon and Oviedo.
Horseback Riding is offered locally in Lamuño. Your nearest sandy beach, San Pedro, (10KMs) offers all services, lifeguard, two snack-bars, showers and parking however, we recommend you explore the many other beaches the area has to offer. Asturias is known for its surfing. Bring a board or rent one in Gijon.
Train Travel in Spain with RENFE
Renfe is Spain's national train company and FEVE is the narrow guage train the runs along the whole northern coast.
Easyjet will bring you to Asturias, Bilbao and Madrid with a flight from there to Asturias all from London's Stansted Airport. We are about 35 minutes from the Asturian Airport (OVD).

Rental Notes: Note! While a 4 wheel drive vehicle is not necessary, if you have one we encourage you to bring it. The road up to Teixidiello is unmade and in some places steep. The first time up can seem long but well worth it. Trust us. It is manageable with a normal car. We recommend the smaller front wheel drive versions if you are renting.
A welcome pack consisting of Wine, bread, milk, marmelades, coffee and teas will be provided upon arrival.
Change over dates are flexible however during the high season we ask that check in time be after 4pm and check out at 10:30 am.
