An ideal base for sightseeing - nearby is Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Buxton. Great location for walking, bird watching, caving, climbing, cycling or simply getting away from it all at any time of year. Alton Towers is only 38 miles away too! The holiday cottage has secure parking on a private gated drive and in a large detached garage.

Lovely aspect on the banks of the River Wye in Litton Mill, Derbyshire. A charming rural retreat. Nearby Tideswell with local shops and pub one mile.
Sleeping 12+ (sofa bed in lounge, cot and single chair bed for small child only plus adult z-bed and inflatable bed) with one of the bedrooms downstairs. Modern ensuite to master bedroom with spacious shower, and family bathroom with shower and separate bath. There is an additional downstairs cloakroom.
Large lounge with king post truss beams and welcoming log burning stove as well as surround sound TV/CD/DVD.
The large dining room and kitchen make this property suitable for families and groups to eat and relax together. There is an additional seating area in the large entrance hall including ample space for coats and boots. The secure fenced garden is laid to lawn with patio area, seating and BBQ. We welcome children and pets and care for their safety.
The kitchen is craftsman built with a large range cooker, two fridges, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. A separate utility room with washing machine and dryer.
There is ample parking with a huge detached garage and gated secure drive. Up to four cars can be accommodated.
From the doorstep there are walks to suit all abilities. Riverside House is an ideal base for exploring the Peak District; Buxton and Bakewell are within easy reach, as well as attractions such as Chatsworth House (the setting for The Duchess staring Keira Knightly), Haddon Hall and the plague village of Eyam.

2 Bathrooms, 1 Separate WC. The family bathroom has a separate bath and large separate shower. The ensuite bathroom has a large shower cubicle. Separate cloakroom downstairs.

Real Fire, Central Heating, Telephone, House Linen, Towels Provided. Free supply of logs for the wood burning stove are provided. Heating included in price. Beds are made up ready and towels supplied. The telephone can be used for local and emergency calls.

Seating for 10. The dining table and kitchen table are both large. The kitchen table can be moved to accommodate larger groups when ajoining the dining table of 12 or more. We also provide a high chair for infants.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Satellite TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games, Table Tennis. The TV is an integral surround sound system and can play CD's. There is an additional TV in the downstairs bedroom (Terrestrial only) and separate CD player in the kitchen. CDs and DVDs provided.

Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. The garden is lawn and patio with seating and BBQ. It is very secure for children and pets with a wrought iron fence all the way round. The wild side of the property is unsuitable for children/pets.

The downstairs area is suitable for elderly persons with a downstairs cloakroom, although both bathrooms are upstairs. Level access downstairs and we provide a ramp for wheelchair users.
Local activities in and around Buxton, Heart of England
There are stunning walks from the door of the property to Monsal Head, Millers Dale, Tideswell Dale, Chee Dale and the Monsal Trail from Bakewell to Millers Dale.
Tideswell, the home of the Cathedral in the Peak is only 5 minutes by car with all the amenities needed for your stay, including excellent pie shop, cafe, butcher, greengrocer, local supermarket, newsagent and many pubs. The Tideswell well dressings and those of other local villages are worth a visit in the summer.
Bakewell and Buxton and within easy reach by car. Alton Towers is about 50 minutes drive away. The historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are nearby. Chatsworth is steeped in history, full of works of art, with wonderful parks and gardens, children's farm and play area. The Chatsworth farm shop is well worth a visit for food lovers.
There are many leisure activities nearby to make your stay enjoyable and entertaining for the family and friends. Fishing, clay pigeon shooting, cycling, golfing, swimming pools, riding, rock climbing and caving are all within easy driving of the property.
Many of the local pubs offer great food including several within very easy drive or walk of Riverside House. Monsall Head is a fabulous walk from the property and it is well worth sampling the food of the Monsall Head restaurant and bar. The town of Hope is about 20 mins drive and this offers some great restaurants. Buxton only 10 mins drive also has a very good selection of eateries.
Matlock and Matlock Bath are well worth a day trip. Gullivers Kingdom is a theme park aimed at children aged 2-13 years. The Heights of Abraham provide lovely views via a cable car ride. There is also plenty of shopping in Matlock.
Manchester is only an hour train ride away from Buxton. It is great day out for larger shops, tourist attractions and restaurants, pubs and bars. Sheffield is also easily reached by a local bus service from Tideswell, with the Meadowhall shopping centre a feature.
Chatsworth House
One of Britain's best loved houses and estates, fabulous works of art, spectacular gardens, maze, children's play area, shopping and restaurants.
Located to north of A6 between Buxton and Bakewell. Take B6049 to Miller's Dale and Tideswell. In valley turn right along river past Angler's Rest. One mile to Litton Mill, house is first on right.

Rental Notes: 4 bedrooms, sleeps 12+. Peak Season rate £1291 per week. Low Season rate £872 per week. Other rates apply. Short breaks available, but not in Peak season. Sat to Sat changeover for weekly bookings.
We request that the property is vacated by 10.00 am on the day of departure. On the day of arrival the property will be ready by 3.00 pm. Beds will be made up with one set of towels per guest. Key handover is arranged locally once full booking is confirmed and monies received.
All services are included in the costs: heating, free supply of logs, bed linen and towels. We provide an initial supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc.
There is a £15 charge per pet and please note that pets are only allowed downstairs.
We have linked up with My Personal Sanctuary providing beauty therapies and Peak District Fine Foods providing a catering service. Our guests can book the services of these companies whilst staying with us to make their stay even more special.
