Open the shutters every morning to breathe in the warm, herb scented air and admire remarkable views of the surrounding mountains and glistening Mediterranean in the distance.
Built in 2006 using environmentally friendly construction, including solar water heating and traditional local materials, Villa Alethea is an exceptionally stylish modern villa that blends in with the stunning Cretan landscape.
Villa Alethea’s accommodation consists of 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open plan lounge dining room and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. There are 3 terraces for outdoor dining with panoramic sea and mountain views.
As you enter the front door through the garden the open plan lounge dining room awaits you. The floors throughout the villa are fully tiled providing a cool haven. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and is included in the price. During the winter months the cosy open fire can be used in the living room and additional heating can be used via the A/C units.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with all the mod cons you require including electric oven, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a large wooden dining table with 6 chairs.
The ground floor has one double bedroom and bathroom. There is a travel cot, and extra single beds can be added if required. An understairs storage cupboard provides room for suitcases and beach items.
On the second floor there is another double bedroom with French antique style furniture, bathroom. From the bedroom you can access a large terrace with stunning panoramic views of the coastline and surrounding hills.
Enjoy a lazy lunch on one of the three terraces admiring the remarkable views or pack a picnic and go for a walk through the narrow streets of Kalo Horio and the surrounding countryside. If you prefer to be more active, why not go for a round or two at the Golf Club, or take the kids to the Aqua Park.

Local activities in and around Heraklion, Crete
Villa Alethea is perfectly situated for easy access to Crete’s capital, Heraklion, the major archaeological sites of Knossos, Phaestos and Gortys, as well as the coastal resorts of Hersonissos and Malia. Due to its proximity to Crete’s main highway (E75) or New Road, which runs along the North coast from West (Kissamos-Kastelli) to East (Sitia), the villa is convenient for exploring all other parts of Crete.
Ancient Knossos is only 25 km away where you can discover some of the most important relics of ancient Mediterranean world. The Minoan palace was imaginatively constructed in early 1900 BC.
Heraklion is a great place to see a slice of everyday Greek street life. Crete’s capital is an eclectic mix of medieval Venetian fortifications, bustling markets and modern streets and shops. Don’t miss the excellent Irakleio Archaeological Museum.
Aquapark – Hersonissos is great fun for kids and adults alike, the Aqua Splash water park is a playground of waterslides, waves and waterfalls.
The Crete Golf Club is the only 18-Hole pro golf course on Crete, the desert-style, par 72 course is challenging and also has a double-ended driving range, a golf academy and club house.
At Kato Gouves there is a long stretch of sand and shingle, and is one of the best beaches near Heraklion.
The beach at Hersonissos is unarguably superb and has an array of multinational bars and restaurants.
Malia has a splendid sandy beach with sun loungers and umbrellas from early summer until October.
22 km from Heraklion, 2 km from Gouves. Kalo Horio is a friendly traditional village in the mountains.
