Casa Mirador, perched on a hill in a quiet cul-de-sac, has spectacular sea views from every room. The villa, terraces, gardens & heated private pool (8x4m) are all unoverlooked. Refurbished for 2008 to a very high standard, it offers spacious accommodation over 2 floors, with 2 large living rooms, 1 on each floor, and can sleep a further 2 people using the sofa bed.
The upper floor L-shaped living room gives onto terraces providing sun and shade and overlooks the pool, the Med and the Illes Medes. The lower level living room gives onto the pool area. Free internet access, satellite TV.
All year round, within a few mins drive of the villa you can enjoy the rugged coastline, unspoilt fishing villages and beaches - Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Tamariu, Llafranch, Calella; medieval villages and towns-Pals, Peratallada. Begur, only 5 mins drive away has characterful shops, cafes, restaurants. Nearby activities: golf, diving, sailing, water sports, tennis, riding, walks, go-karting and cycling.
The whole villa was refurbished for 2008 - new kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, decorating inside and out, new furniture throughout ..
The villa is very spacious and the layout makes it suitable for 2 families, children and teenagers, with a living room and bedrooms and bathrooms on each floor.
It can sleep up to 12 people using the sofa bed in the living room downstairs.
It has a detached garage and additional off-road parking; parking is also possible outside the villa.
The garden is exceptionally large (1300 sq.m) and established with terraced areas with Mediterranean plants, an old olive tree with shady seating under it, extensive poolside area with 10 sunloungers and poolside shower, and a wooded area children love to explore.
There is a large L-shaped terrace on the upper level with commanding views of the Mediterranean sea and Illes Medes, offering sun and shade all day.
Central heating and open fire for winter months. Some DVDs, board games, PS2 console with some games, table tennis and books which you are welcome to enjoy.
You can walk to Sa Riera beach and Begur in 20 mins.
There is an outdoor shower by the poolside which is handy for when you are swimming and sunbathing.
The pool is heated with 80% renewable energy, providing a consistent 27 C water temperature if required. This extends the usual swimmming season from 4 to 7 months, from April to end October.

People with difficulties with stairs need to be aware that there is a flight of stairs down to the villa from the cul-de-sac, and from the upper level to the pool area.

There is something for everyone all year round in this area described as the jewel of the Costa Brava: relaxing in the villa, by the pool or on one of the many varied unspoilt beaches with waterfront cafes and restaurants (Sa Riera only 5 mins drive, Sa Tuna, Aiguafreda, Tamariu, Calella, Llafranch all only 10-15 mins drive); spectacular coastal and rural walks, water sports, marine reserves (Ses Negres, Illes Medes), and fantastic scuba diving (15 mins).
Several golf courses (2 championship) within 15 mins, tennis, water park, sailing, cycling, horse-riding, go-karting; daily markets held each day of the week in a different nearby village or town, superb restaurants either by the sea or in charming medieval towns and villages inland (characterful Begur with quaint alleys, boutiques, cafes, restaurants 5 mins drive, Peratallada, Pals, Palafrugell within 10-15 mins drive); day trips to Girona, Barcelona and the Pyrenees; Dali museums at Figueres, Cadaques and Pubol; ceramics and pottery shops at La Bisbal.
Throughout the summer outdoor international music festivals can be enjoyed at Cap Roig Botanical Gardens (a magical setting high on a clifftop with the Mediterranean as a backdrop), Sant Feliu de Guixols & Torroella de Montgri (recent artists include Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Robeta Flack, The Chieftains, Youssou N'dour as well as classical musicians). The Cap Roig gardens themselves are spectacular any time of year, perched high overlooking the fishing village of Calella.
The area is rich in history and Catalan culture; the beautifully restored medieval village of Peratallada, entirely free of cars, gives one the experience of stepping back in time.
The area is a haven for foodies (even vegetarians) with several outstanding restaurants in atmospheric rural and coastal settings (a list of our favourites can be found in the house manual). There is a wide network of short and long distance paths, coastal & inland (these are especially enjoyable in winter).
Casa Mirador is approx 1.5 kms from Begur. Full directions will be provided before your holiday.

Rental Notes: Prices shown are for the villa per week in UK pounds and include water, gas and electricity.
These prices are negotiable for long winter lets and off season for smaller groups who may just wish to use the upper level.
The prices are also negotiable for last-minute bookings when we offer a minimum 25% discount if you are booking within 2 weeks of the start of your holiday and 15% if it is within 4 weeks of the start, depending on the number of guests.
Changeover day is Saturday but flexible out of season. Arrival 4-8pm (arrangements can be made for later arrivals). Check-out by 10am (flexible out of season).
30% non-returnable deposit on reservation. Full balance due 2 months prior to arrival date. £200 breakage deposit (refundable less any breakages) payable with final balance.
Keys held with helpful and efficient local managing agent (fluent in English) who will deal with any queries during your stay. All directions/ instructions provided prior to your holiday.
