Les Trois Balcons - Large Holiday Home in the Massif des Bauges
House with 6 Bedrooms, Sleeps 14
Our house is situated in the village of Doucy-en-Bauges. Doucy-en-Bauges is one ot the highest villages in the region and is situated 38km from Annecy and 84km from Geneva, in the heart of the Massif des Bauges. This undiscovered area lies within the Haute-Savoie. It is surrounded by fantastic alpine walking country. There is skiing within 12km at Les Aillons/Margeriaz in the winter.
Les Trois Balcons is a lovely modernised family house with magnificent views. The house can accommodate up to 14 adults in 6 bedrooms. There is a large family kitchen and a spacious dining/living room with a wood burning stove and under-floor heating (winter season). Three of the bedrooms have balconies. Two of the bedrooms are on the top floor as part of a flat with separate bathroom and kitchenette. The sixth bedroom is a large family room.
The house is furnished comfortably. There is a flatlet at the top of the house consisting of two bedrooms (1 double room with a sofa bed, 1 twin room), a kitchenette and a large shower room. The first floor consists of four bedrooms (3 double rooms-one with a child’s Ikea bed-and 1 bedroom with bunk beds and 1 single bed), a large bathroom and a separate cloakroom.
The ground floor consists of a large kitchen/breakfast room which has a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and coffee maker. The spacious lounge/diner, with a highly efficient wood-burning stove as its focal point, is a sizeable space in which to relax and eat. There is also a cloakroom on this level, with under-floor heating throughout the ground floor space.
Outside are two terraces; The large, upper terrace has access to the 1st floor of the house, while the lower terrace is a great sunny space for eating and relaxing.
There is a great range of activites and sites of interest to visit and explore in the summer. Further down the valley at the bottom end of the village is a local shop which will provide you with bread/pastries/a selection of cold meats & pates and which also sells essential provisions from the small shop attached.
This is a wonderful and relaxing region of France to discover with family and friends. The region of the Bauges, near the Alps, is an unspoilt and uncrowded area. It lies within the regions of Savoie and Haute-Savoie, and our house is perched up in one of the highest villages in the range.
