Apokoronas is a well-known and famous area in Chania known for its natural beauty and the diversity of the genuine Cretan countryside. The village is 26km away from the city of Chania, in the middle of the road between Chania and Rethymno, and a mere 1.5km from the basic road axis of Crete of Hania-Heraklion at the foot of Lefka Ori.
In the nearby villages there are many traditional taverns serving genuine traditional Cretan dishes made with excellent local products. Local people, who appreciate what Cretan cuisine has to offer, often choose the taverns in Agioi Pantes (1.5km), Tzitzifes (1.5km) and Melidoni (2km) for their excellent food. The main building of the villa is simple and influenced by Aegean island architecture. It emphasizes on spaciousness and manages to combine elegant decorative elements with the restrictions of traditional minimalism. There are 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an open space for kitchen, dining room, fireplace and sitting room, and an auxiliary room, all covering the 200 square metres and two levels of the villa.
Ground floor Kitchen: Open plan, fully equipped with all electrical appliances; dining area, living room with comfortable sofas, fireplace and a WC; one bedroom with en-suite bathroom; verandah with panoramic view and an outdoor dining area.
First floor A stone staircase leads to the first floor (80 square metres) that has two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, an auxiliary room (laundry, ironing and linen press); the main corridor leads to the patio (50 square metres) that has an outdoor sitting area. The villa can house comfortably up to 6 people (for more people, prior arrangement is necessary).
All of this is offered in a green clad environment, swamped with flowers, aromatic herbs and trees, an ideal place of calm and relaxation for grown-ups and endless games and playing for children.

Local activities in and around Kalives, Crete
Less than 500 metres away from Villa Kallithea, your walk will take you to the Byzantine church of Saint George dating back to the 16th century, or the gorge that begins at the village exit. Every walk inside the infinite olive groves and the nearby hills with local flora and the unique Cretan aromatic herbs will waken all your senses. If you feel up to a little more walking, you will reach Melidoni, a mountain village, where after approximately 2 km, you will be able to begin the exploration of the rugged slopes of the Lefka Ori (White Mountains); if you do not wish to walk all the way there, you may go as far as the mountain by car.
Nearby villages, such as Stylos (6 km away) and Armeni (5 km away) might also interest you because of their natural beauty. There you may choose to rest under the great plane trees by the river and have lunch. The lake of Kournas (9 km away) has rich flora and fauna, it is registered in the Natura 2000 project as a protected habitat. Approximately 9 km farther away is Vamos, the administrative capital of the county, is a registered traditional community with refurbished traditional buildings that house taverns, coffee shops and small guest houses.
The beaches of Kalyves, Almyrida and Georgioupolis (9 km away) extend a refreshing invitation for swimming.
If you are looking for night entertainment, Kalyves and Georgioupolis will offer you a plethora of options that can please even the most demanding taste; for a more cosmopolitan flair, you should try the cities of Hania or Rethymno at a distance of approximately 26 km.
The village is 26km from Chania and 118km from Heraklion, and a mere 1.5km from the basic road axis of Crete of Hania-Heraklion.
