Doon Cottage is a lovely comfortable home. It has an open fire, stripped wood finishes and an enclosed well-tended south facing garden at the front of the cottage. Both the village shop & pub are within 500 yards. Very pleasantly located on the edge of Twynholm village, close to the lovely Solway coastline and bounded by fields with views east to the hills.
Completely renovated and tastefully furnished, in keeping with the style and character of the cottage. We frequently use the cottage ourselves, which means it is very well equipped and has many comfortable touches throughout. Visit Scotland 4* grading.
On the Ground floor there is a large open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room and a lounge with double sofa bed. On the First floor we have 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin. There is a large secure outhouse attached which is suitable for storing bikes.
All fuel, power & bed linen included. Children are very welcome. High chair provided. Sorry no pets. No smoking. There is parking for 3 cars.
Doon Cottage is 4 miles from the historic fishing town of Kirkcudbright which has several coffee shops, restaurants and artists’ galleries. Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet are 8 and 5 miles away respectively and both offer an alternative range of shops and recreational facilities.
