Trough Cottage is a 'romantic' and tastefully refurbished cottage with original features that sleeps four comfortably with provision of a fold up bed for any extra guest. It was built circa 1850 as a one bedroom farm workers cottage and around a 100 years later a two storey extension was built when the then resident farm worker complained that it was not big enough for himself, his wife and their five children.
The nearby Black Horse pub offers a great range of foods and real ales for those of you who don't fancy cooking. Wifi is available at the Black Horse pub.
Set in beautiful Derbyshire countryside the cottage offers a superb base for walking in the Peak District. For those whose passions are of an aquatic nature Carsington Water, only 3 miles away, offers a wide range of water sports, fishing, and cycling as well as its own visitors centre.
