Protea is a lovely Victorian property that enjoys views over Torquay and the sea. Set over 2 floors, there is the added benefit of the large gardens and heated outdoor pool (end May - Sept).
The position offers peace and tranquillity, yet is only a short walk to the sea front and Torre Abbey sands, and then an enjoyable stroll along the sea front to Torquay Marina and harbour. In the opposite direction there is a pleasant woodland walk along Cockington Valley to the thatched village and Cockington Court, which has country park status and is well worth visiting.
Living: A light and airy lounge area with high ceilings and large windows. Traditional furniture which includes a three seater settee and a two seater settee, a three seater Chesterfield and a chaise longue. Other antique furniture includes tables and a bookcase with plentiful books for guests to borrow. Doors lead to a conservatory area with further seating and furniture. Entertainment is provided by a widescreen TV with Sky Satellite, and a DVD/Video player.
Kitchen: Fitted to a high standard and offers a more casual dining area with another table and eight chairs. Pleasant views overlooking the gardens. Fully equipped kitchen with quality integrated appliances including electric fan oven with grill, gas hob, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer and a combination microwave.
Dining: Spacious dining hall with a dining table and eight chairs. Period display cabinet and original Victorian fireplace.
Sleeping Information Master Bedroom - A large room with views across to Torquay and the seafront. Furniture comprises a double bed, built-in double wardrobe, a corner dressing table with wall mirrors and two bedside units. Included is a mini fridge, TV and video. En-suite bathroom.
Bedroom Two : Another large room with double aspect views of the sea and across the bay and also over the pool and garden. Furnished with a double bed, built-in double wardrobe and dressing table and two bedside cabinets. Included is a mini fridge, TV and video. En-suite bathroom.

Local activities in and around Torquay, South West
The heart of the town is the harbour which is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants; a great place to watch the world go by. From here, take a pleasant stroll along the marina with the area’s trademark palm trees, or hop on a boat for a cruise across the bay or round to Dartmouth. The Living Coasts, The Princess Theatre and Pavilion shops are also located here. Torquay is rich in Victorian architecture and identity as the country’s first ‘resort’.
Torquay is host to many more attractions, including Babbacombe Model Village, Kents Cavern, Torquay Museum. Or take a trip back through time to Cockington Village where thatched roofs prevail and watch a blacksmith working in the 14th Century forge.
Those looking for a beach will not be disappointed either. Torquay is the ‘sandcastle capital of the UK’ offering the ideal mix of sand and water, according to research conducted by Bournemouth University.
