There is also a fabulous weekly market.
This is a first class location for wine tasting, with so many chateaux in the vicinity.

Le Verger du Barrail is a luxury high specification Maison de Maitre hidden amongst the Bordeaux vineyards only 25 minutes away from St Emilion, situated on a quiet village lane. Ideal for wine enthusiasts or those merely in search of beautiful accommodatioin in a stunning tranquil location...
It is a bright characterful stone property, with high ceilings, polished wooden floors, beautiful working open fireplaces and large traditionally shuttered windows. It has its own private swimming pool, stone terrace and large fenced totally private gardens providing plenty of space for alfresco dining.
The property is tastefully decorated in a French 'shabby chic' style with plenty of comfortable sofas/armchairs. You can always find a quiet spot to daydream, looking onto the chateau and vineyards...
Ideal for a 2 family holiday as the property has 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 5 WCs, 2 kitchens and 2 living rooms. The accommodation is thoughtfully laid out, with none of the first floor accommodation over the ground floor (perfect if you have little ones asleep!) We are child-friendly with a fully fenced swimming pool for your exclusive use and can provide at no extra cost - cots, high chair, baby gate, pushchair etc. We even have lots of toys, books, games and DVDs.
Practical items like proper salon style hairdryers (with nozzles!) are supplied to all double bedrooms, beautiful fluffy towels and all beds made ready for your arrival in fabulous pure cotton percale bedlinen. We even provide pool towels and basic condiments like foil, dishwasher tablets and other essentials.
If you have any questions/special requests feel free to drop us an email/phone us. We will happily phone you back to save your bill. Please check your email 'spam' folder, as we do respond very promptly to all emails, but have been caught out by the odd overzealous 'spam' filter.
We live in a nearby stone house - so are always there if you need us, but unobtrusive otherwise.

Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. The swimming pool has roman steps making life easier with little ones. It is well fenced with security gates and has an alarm. There's a large stone terrace off the kitchen affording fabulous views.

Local activities in and around St Emilion, Aquitaine/Dordogne
The Entre deux Mers region of the Gironde is famed for its wine making, with the historic town of St Emillion being some 25 mins distant. Numerous chateaux are to be found in the area - many open for wine tasting. The area abounds in gently rolling hills, vineyards, sleepy villages and bustling market towns. The region is also famed for its gastromonie (truffles, foie gras) and its mild climate.
Aquitaine is rich in architecture - Bordeaux and Bergerac being fine examples, as well as some of the smaller bastide market towns full of old timbered buildings and cafes - perfect for a spot of people watching in the sunshine.
At the centre of the region is the Dordogne river.

St Emilion – World Renowned and world heritage site. Chateaux, wine tasting and restaurants in a beautiful setting.
Bergerac/Bergerac Airport – Home of Cyrano de Bergerac, river trips, restaurants and shopping in the atmospheric old town.
Chateau Vigiers Golf – Championship golf course with daily green fees available. Combined with superb Brasserie and Restaurant with outdoor swimming pool - great for the kids.
Ste-Foy-La-Grande – beautiful 13th century bastide town 5 minutes away and with all amenities required for your stay (supermarkets, restaurants, cinema, tourist office, post office, and shopping). Has fantastic weekly market.
Canoe Rental – Available at both Pessac-sur-Dordogne and Ste-Foy-la-Grande both with 5-10 minutes.
Fishing – We can arrange a visiters licence for the duration of your stay for fishing on the Dordogne (we are only 1/2 km from the banks of the river).
Pitch and Putt – 9 hole course for all the family.
Horse Riding – Hacks and riding lessons available within 10 minutes drive. 1/2 day hacks with stop off for wine tasting en route can be arranged.

Bordeaux - this beautiful city is very accessible thanks to the great road/rail links, and now has an easy tram park and ride.

Refundable good housekeeping deposit of £300 required 8 weeks prior to holiday start, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
