"Juniperus" is set in 1.5 acres of south-facing Dordogne hillside with stunning, long distance views over undulating hills and small farms from all balconies, gardens and pool. It is not at all overlooked. "Juniperus" offers superb, fully-equipped accommodation for up to 8 people. It is ideal for young families.Easily accessed from the Channel ports in 6 hours, Bergerac airport in 1 hour and the TGV at Angouleme in 45 mins.
The local small town with all essential facilities is just 5 mins drive away. 3 restaurants/bars/cafes are within walking/cycling distance. A major market town, Riberac, is just 12km south.
"Juniperus" is a bright and spacious "home-from-home" fully furnished and equipped. It should be - it's our home for most of the year! It comprises 2 double bedrooms (one King size), both with full ensuite bathrooms, 2 twin bedrooms, one with a shower room & WC alongside and the other with a fourth WC nearby.
The kitchen is all-electric with wide access to both the lounge and the dining room. You can comfortably cater for 8 in the amazing dining room with a high, vaulted timber ceiling and a wall of double-glazed patio doors to the terrace, garden and pool. The dining also has a sofa and two armchairs for quiet reading outside mealtimes! The lounge has three areas for different activities (TV, reading, board games) and the double patio doors lead onto a large balcony with awning, looking south over the green hills, wooded valleys and small farmsteads.
The tended gardens are stocked with flowering shrubs, trees and potted plants. These surround the 8m x 4m x 1.4m pool that is maintained by the owners. There is a large concrete-built bbq with patio tables & chairs for meals outside, protected with parasols and an awning.

2 Double Bedrooms, 2 Twin Bedrooms. Bright, well decorated and fully-furnished with good beds, mattresses and linen. Windows have fixed insect mesh to allow plentiful ventilation without flying insects.

2 Bathrooms, 1 Shower, 2 Separate WC's. The two bathrooms are fully equipped with wc, full sized bath, shower over, wash basin, illuminated vanity mirror, other mirrors and lighting, towel rails, heating, windows & extraction. Bidet in one
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. All electric, modern, "familiar" to you. Also a toaster, blender/mixer, and all the utensils you could desire. If we've forgotten anything, just tell us!
General:
Real Fire, Telephone, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. The kitchen Rayburn/Aga is not normally alight during the letting season, nor is the wood stove in the lounge. Background heating is available from the electric convector heaters in each room.
Dining:
Seating for 8. Light beech furniture: long extending table, chairs, sideboard. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, table mats etc. A large awning over the "wall of glass" patio doors regulates the early morning sun.
Entertainment:
Satellite TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. Boules (petanque), badminton, volleyball equipment available and we share a full-size petanque court with our neighbours, 50 metres away.
Outside:
Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. Parking alongside the front door for up to 3 cars.
Plenty of plastic garden furniture, parasols, inflatables and plastic drinking glasses!
The pool is protected by French Govt.-approved ALARMS.
Suitability:
Children Welcome, Not Suitable For Wheelchairs, Suitable For Elderly, Sorry - No Pets Allowed, Smoking Allowed.
Although most of the villa is on one level, one twin bedroom is down a sturdy, spiral staircase. The surrounding area is quite hilly in parts and might not be suitable for the infirm.
Local activities in and around Verteillac, Aquitaine/Dordogne
This is excellent countryside for walking and cycling with its gentle hills, long-distance views and a bar or cafe every 30 minutes or so. Our nearest small town, St Severin (4km), has every essential; a Spar supermarket, baker's, butchers', doctor, pharmacy, bank with ATM in wall, post office, newsagent/tabac, several bars/cafes and a hotel/restaurant.
Coarse fishing, golf, tennis, horse-riding, river boating, canoes, swimming lakes with imported sand and pedaloes, crazy golf (5 mins away), nature reserves, bird-watching, chateux, museums, art galeries and craft workshops are all within 30 mins' drive. Riberac, just 20 mins away, has a large, lively market on Friday mornings - not to be missed! The cities of Angouleme and Perigueux are within 45 mins.
