Gwynfryn is situated in the mediaeval walled town of Conwy, North Wales, minutes walk from the historic harbour. Nearby towns include Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Deganwy, Betws-y-Coed, Llanwrst, Bangor and Caernarfon. Conwy is situated on the North coast of Wales not far from the Snowdonain mountain range. The National Trust's Bodnant Gardens are about 15 minutes drive from Conwy. Locally there are historic places to visit including Conwy Castle, Plas Mawr, The Smallest House and Aberconwy House. There are 3 golf courses within easy reach as well as fishing, sailing, walking and sandy beaches. Further afield there are the historic towns of Chester, Anglesey and Liverpool.

Gwynfryn is a 3- storey cottage full of character set within the walls of the mediaeval town of Conwy, sleeps 4 – 6 and has fantastic views across the town of Conwy to the castle and also to the Snowdonian mountain range. The cottage is in a great location, within minutes walk of the town, set back from the main roads and accessed through a private courtyard. The cottage has a private garden laid to patio that catches the sun most of the day.
The accommodation comprises a large open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room with log burning stove, TV/DVD, radio & CD. There is a downstairs toilet and utility area, where the heating boiler is situated. On the first floor there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with bunk beds and a bathroom. Leading from this hallway is a staircase up to the top room that has fantastic views across Conwy. This room has a double futon so the room can be used as a sitting room or bedroom.

Garden, Garden Furniture. The garden area is laid to patio and provides a great suntrap. 2 Sun loungers, large table, chairs and a parasol are available.

The 2 flights of stairs might be a problem for the elderly or infirm.
A travel cot and high chair can be provided but not cot linen.
Local activities in and around Conwy, North Wales
There is plenty to do and see in Conwy itself and due to its central position a car is not essential when staying in Gwynfryn. The Royal Cambrian art gallery is seconds from the cottage, as is Plas Mawr, the “Great Hall”, which is the finest surviving town house of the Elizabethan era to be found anywhere in Britain. There is Conwy Castle constructed by Edward 1 between 1283 and 1289 with 8 huge round towers and soaring curtain walls. The town is guarded by the town walls which stretch over three quarters of a mile and have 22 towers. Also within the town is the National Trust's ancient Aberconwy House, Britain’s Smallest House, the newly refurbished quay-side and the butterfly jungle. For those who enjoy walking there is the Marine walk, which can take you round to the marina and beaches, Bodlondeb woods, Conwy Mountain for the more serious walkers or a shoreline path walk to Deganwy, Llandudno and the Great Orme. Also close by are Conwy Golf Club, Llandudno Golf Club & North Wales Golf Club, public tennis courts 5 minutes walk away, Aberconwy beach and The Langley Spa where spa treatments and hair dressing is available to non – members. Within walking distance is a 24 hour Tesco supermarket, Cineworld, MacDonalds, Pizzaland and KFC.There is a regular bus service to the picturesque Victorian seaside resort town of Llandudno (10 mins drive), which hosts North Wales' top theatre 'Venue Cymru', has wonderful wide ornate canopied shopping streets and modern shopping mals, boutiques, restaurants, beautiful promenade and beaches, a brand new swimming pool complex, a dry ski slope, toboggan run, Bronze-age copper mines,historic tramway, Victorian pier and cable-car lift on the Great Orme headland .The National Trust's Bodnant Gardens is about 15mins drive and there is a train station in Conwy and Llandudno Junction from where you can easily travel to Chester, Manchester, London or Dublin in Ireland.
Exit the A55 Expressway at Junction 18 or Junction 17 and follow the signs for Conwy. Gwynfryn is in Chapel Street through the gateway marked "No 19".
