Dénia, climate and beaches:
The region has a special Mediterranean climate. Dénia is recognised by the WHO as having one of healthiest climates in the world with an average 2500 hours of sunshine each year, sea temperatures ranging from 13°C minimum in winter to 26°C in summer, and air temperatures ranging from 15°C in winter to 32°C in summer. This makes Dénia an ideal location for year round holidays. Dénia boasts EU blue flag beaches e.g. Las Marinas. These long sandy beaches, ideal for adults and children alike, run for at least 20 kilometres to the north. As well as children's beach playgrounds, every water activity is provided for in this area. There is also the beautiful Marineta Cassiana beach, a smaller sandy bay to one side of which Dénia's newest marina has been built. South from here lie the rocky coves of Las Rotas (with SUPERB restaurants) & the protected marine area of Cabo de San Antonio...
Dénia, a golfer's paradise:
Lovers of golf are really in for a treat, the area has a growing number of challenging golf courses all within easy access of Dénia. Local golf courses include: Club de Golf Dénia La Sella - 18 holes PGA venue (6 kilometres), Club de Golf Oliva Nova - 18 holes (12 kilometres), Club de Golf Javea - 9 holes (20 kilometres), Club de Golf Ifach - 9 holes (25 kilometres). The Jose Maria Olazabal designed Dénia La Sella Golf club is 15 minutes drive inland. This beautifully scenic course set in the foothills of the Montgo mountain with sea views is 18 holes, par 72 and 6,029 yards. Other facilities include: driving range, putting green, heated swimming pool, spa, club bar and restaurant. Within 20 minutes drive north along the coastal road is the Oliva Nova Golf Course, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course is 18 holes, par 72 and 7,051 yards. The club has a driving range, restaurant, pool and fitness centre. Towards Valencia (under 1 hour by car) is the world-class El Saler.....
