This peaceful location to get away from it all and take time to relax has the advantage of being just 20 minutes from the airport, the coast and local attractions and activities. The villa is a short drive from Faro with its historic centre and marina, Loule and Sao Bras, each with their shops, markets, history and restaurants. There is a maid service 3 times a week, as well as a weekly pool check included in the price.

A traditional white villa in the foothills above Faro, with fabulous views from the roof terrace across the stunning countryside to the coast. The villa is in a peaceful spot for a relaxing holiday. Surrounded by olive groves and meadows it is set on a quiet country lane, so you are never bothered by road or plane noise. The villa is set in its own secluded grounds but the nearest neighbour - the housekeeper - is only 3 mins away. Within a 10 minute leisurely walk there are two little shops selling local produce, a couple of bars and a very good french restaurant serving excellent local and French delicacies with the advantage of a fixed price menu.
As our second home, the villa is furnished to a high standard with everything you need for the perfect relaxing holiday. The clear crystal waters of the private pool, unusually large for a villa, is surrounded by a paved sun terrace and pretty garden with traditional flowering mediterreanean plants. There is an outdoor barbeque and covered dining area as well as an indoor kitchen-diner.
The villa is on one floor and well suited to couples as well as families with children of all ages. There is a lovely roof terrace to sit and and have breakfast or watch the sunset with a well deserved gin and tonic, or a glass of complimentary port whilst looking for shooting stars.
The villa sits on a large plot, with its own driveway and car port. The delightful, large garden to front and rear is big enough to play games such as boules or badminton or even practice chipping (games provided). The garden is well maintained with beautiful plants and shrubs. Orange, lemon, almond, carob, fig and olive trees are dotted about the garden to provide shade and abundant flower borders surround the house and drive. Please help yourself to any of the fruit or nuts in season. We eat outside around the shaded dining table, which seats 8 -10. There are chairs, sun loungers and parasols around the pool and on the roof terrace.

1 Double Bedroom, 2 Twin Bedrooms. All 3 bedrooms are large, well furnished and decorated. The double is a double aspect room, the largest twin has double doors onto the garden. All have pure cotton linen, duvets and new pillows.

2 Bathrooms, 2 Separate WC's. The luxury designer bathrooms were fitted last year - the main bathroom has a bath and shower, the double bedroom has it's own en suite bathroom.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Washing Machine, Iron. Fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons - English kettle, toaster, coffee maker, juicer, food processor etc. As well as pots, pans, and everything you could possibly need - a real home from home.
General:
Real Fire, Maid Service, House Linen, Towels Provided. Each room has a celing fan for the summer and electric radiators for the winter, the lounge is very comfortable and newly furnished with a log fire - logs included for the winter.
Dining:
Seating for 8. There are 3 dining tables - one in the kitchen-diner that seats 6, outside on the pool terrace by the BBQ, which seats 8, and on the roof there is a small table for 4.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Satellite TV, Video, CD System, Board Games. Outside games including boules and badminton, pool inflatables, and inside there is a huge range of books and games.
Outside:
Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. The pool and garden are fabulous - you won't want to leave. There are parasols and sun loungers on the pool terrace, or you can escape the heat of the sun in the shade of a tree in the garden.

Great villa for families or couples. This is not for party animals wanting to go clubing all night - better for those looking for a relaxing peaceful holiday. All the accomodation is on ground floor.
Local activities in and around Santa Barbara de Nexe, Eastern Algarve
There is a great market in Loule for browsing and shopping, also Faro is great for shopping - and much cheaper than UK. For local history, look no further than the Roman ruins on your doorstep at Estoi (Milreu), or the historic centre at Faro. Within a 20 minute drive there are numerous beaches, tennis, horse riding, golf, nature reserves, bird watching, and 30 mins away the water park and aquarium. Lots of local restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. English is spoken everywhere.
This part of Portugal just ooozes history. Conquered by the major civilisations, the locality boasts Roman ruins of a villa and baths (Estoi) and many old castles, city walls and museums (Loule). A Moorish principality for hundreds of years (which is where the name Al-garve originates), their influence still persists in the language, architecture, agriculture and cuisine - especially the desserts - and the local pottery.The villa is situated within easy driving distance of many local beaches, towns and resorts on the south coast, including the pretty sleepy Roman fishing port of Tavira to the breathtaking Atlantic cliffs and fort of the Sagres peninsula in the West, to the historic Spanish city of Seville in the East with the perfectly preserved Moorish palace of the Alcazar. The villa is perfectly located as a quiet escape from the madding tourist crowd, but within just 20 minutes from the beachfront and night life if you really want.

Half and hour's drive away is the water park with water slides for a fun day out for kids of all ages!

Rental Notes: Prefer Saturday - Saturday rentals, but can be flexible out of season. The property is managed by our local agent in Portugal who will assist you with any problems and will make sure the villa is up to standard during your stay.
The housekeeper - Maria - lives next door and provides a maid service 3 times a week. We ask you to arrive after 3pm on your arrival date and vacate the villa by 10am on your departure date to give us time to prepare the villa for the next guests.
All linen, towels etc are included in the price, along with all services and utilities (water, electricity, gas). Car hire advisable - there are local as well as national companies at the airport.
