Roses is well located for the main towns of Figueres and Girona and only two hours from Barcelona. In Figueres you can found the Dali Museum, and an important shopping area. Tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays there are markets. 15 minutes by train or car.
Severals small mediterrean villages along the coast to visit: Cotlliure, Port de la Selva, Cadaques-Cap de Creus-Port Lligat where Dalí had his home, fishing towns of Llançà and L'Escala, touristic resort of Empuriabrava. Natural areas protected: Cap Creus(sea), L'Albera (mountain), Els Aiguamolls ( important birth area), La Garrotxa (volcanic area) perfect to walk and highcking. 1 hour from Pirineus mountains.
Medieval villages: Peralada with a greatest musical festival, romanic Besalu, volcanic Santa Pau, Pals, La Bisbal with ceramic industry and the jewish city of Girona.
