It has been recently completely renovated, but retains the appearance of Parisian accommodation with waxed floorboards and a couple of leather armchairs. Within the apartment there is a small bathroom with shower facilities.
There are many typical Parisian bars and restaurants within minutes of the appartment. In the heart of Republique area, it is a lively area, yet is peaceful at night, being on the 7th floor.
It is in the 11th Arrondissement and 2 minute walk from the nearest Metro (Parmentier) and 20-30 minutes walk from Sacre Coeur/Notre Dame. It is 7-8 minutes walk from Place de la Republique and in walking distance from Bastille and Place de Vosges.
From the windows in the appartment, one can see Sacre Coeur and there is a good view of the Republique region.

The house in which the appartment is found is in a typically impressive 18th century Haussman building along the striking Avenue de la Republique. At one end of the Avenue is Place de la Republique which is a large Place with many bars and restaurants, (if one continues past this Place on a direct route, one comes to the Arc de Triomph. The other way leads to Pere Lachaise (a mile away), a famous cemetary where people like Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf) and Jim Morrison are buried.
Close by there are all the facilities one needs. Of particular note is the excellent boulangerie , fruit and vegetable shops, delicatessens, wine shops, excellent Parisian restaurants and bars all within yards of the appartment. There is a selection of small and large supermarkets etc close by. A variety of outdoor markets can be found in the locality.
