For a taste of true Andalucia, there's the white village of Benalmadena Pueblo (5 mins by bus) with its charming small squares, cobbled streets and cafés...a lovely place to wander around then order a few tapas and a cool drink and just watch the world go by...
Busy Arroyo de la Miel & Benalmadena Costa 5 mins, Fuengirola 15 mins - vibrant nightlife, lots of shops, bars.

Benalmadena Costa is a sought-after holiday location, offering nightlife, children's attractions, sports, marina, golf, beaches, whether you want a quiet holiday away from it all or prefer to be out and about and enjoy all the leisure/dining facilities the area offers.
Entertainment/sports/dining out: Entertainment for all ages just 5-10 mins by car, including Torrequebrada Hotel Casino and a multitude of bars, cafes, restaurants (from Chinese, Indian and Thai to tapas and Spanish and British menus).
Transport: 5 mins walk bus and taxis in next street. Train station Torremuelle is 5 min drive (a cheap and cheerful way to get to and from Malaga airport which is a 15 min drive/20km away).
Shopping: Fabulous shopping at Spain's top dept. store, El Corte Ingles, and the new Miramar Centre are both just 10-15 mins by car.
Malaga city centre also has a huge variety of shops and nightlife, it's easy to reach on the train (€1.70 one way) and the city is bidding to be European City of Culture 2016 so there are exciting new changes. Its historic centre and Picasso Museum are worth seeing. Great nightlife, bodegas, bars.
Days Out: MARBELLA and PUERTO BANUS are 35 mins away by car where you can explore Marbella's enchanting "Orange Square" Plaza de los Naranjos with its boutiques, bars, churches, museums and cobbled streets.
PUERTO BANUS is Marbella's more glamorous sister. Both have yacht and leisure harbours, a wonderful place to stroll around and window shop on a sunny day before a coffee at a waterfront cafe.
MIJAS PUEBLO is bigger than Benalmadena and busier. Take a donkey "taxi" around the village. Many cosy cafes, art and handcraft galleries, gardens, and amazing views from the "Mirador" up top. Mijas has many British residents but has retained its Andalusian feel.
We can recommend good places to eat, drink or visit whatever your budget - as well as excursions if you have time to explore the area.
Very close to the coast road. Also easy access to/from the main A7 motorway which goes to/from Malaga airport. Please ask for directions. Flat is 2 mins from coast road, 5 mins to A7 motorway.
